Windows XP, a Miraculous Reboot: The Conclusion of the Sticker Tune-up to Make Recaro Seats Look Like 'Genuine Avenir' Equipment

Last time, I talked about discovering that the Craft ROBO software was still alive on my old Windows XP-equipped PC, the Vostro 230.

It was a 'Great Data Transfer Operation' where I struggled with data input and output, somehow getting DXF data created on a modern PC over to the XP machine, and then from there onto an ancient SD card.

To give you the result... I succeeded in cutting it without any issues!

There was an indescribable emotion in seeing equipment from nearly 20 years ago once again making that pleasant whirring sound as it moved its blade.

Pursuing 'Mimicry Without Incongruity'

What I produced this time was a sticker featuring the Avenir ornament mark.

I was careful with my color selection to suppress that 'this was obviously added later!' look.

I cut out blue, black, and gray, but the conclusion was gray.

Against the black resin part of the Recaro, the gray logo blended in softly and matched the tone of the entire interior perfectly. With this, I completed an exquisite mimicry that makes people think at first glance, 'Wait, did the Avenir have a genuine option like this?'

Endless Obsession: The Temptation of GT4

I actually stuck them on the left and right seats and was soaking in the satisfaction, but...

Suddenly, the thought crossed my mind that maybe the 'GT4' logo, which symbolizes the Avenir's high-performance grade, would have been good too. I can't stop worrying, thinking, 'Wait, would people suspect I'm using Porsche parts if I use GT4?' (laughs)

The understated choice of the 'Avenir genuine mark' is nice, but considering the sports performance that Recaro seats have, 'GT4' might have been more convincing.

That said, I still have the Craft ROBO (and Windows XP) that runs energetically at hand.

If I change my mind, I can cut out my 'next move' at any time. This is the true joy of DIY.

It takes effort, but the time spent mastering it to create your ideal form is a 'blissful moment' that cannot be replaced by anything else.

If my Craft ROBO had given up the ghost, I would have clicked 'buy' on Amazon by now and been mass-producing 'GT4 logos' (lol).
