People who put others down to assert dominance are the ones who lack peace of mind
In the workplace, at home,
or in neighborhood relationships
within various human relationships,
there are people who immediately make fun of others,
make sarcastic remarks,
and try to assert dominance,
regardless of their age,
they are everywhere, aren't they?
People who belittle others
and treat those around them like fools
might at first glance
seem like they have self-confidence
and high self-esteem,
but
the exact oppositeis true.
Such people
lack mental peace of mind
and lack self-confidence.
I will talk about that.
◯ The loser barks the loudest
It has long been said that a loser's howl is distant, or that the loser barks the loudest,
but
that is exactly right,
people who make fun of others,
constantly talk about their own achievements,
or try to assert dominance
are essentially exposing
their own inferiority,
and although they probably don't want to admit it themselves,
they are harboring some kind of inferiority complex,
andthey are trying to wipe it away by acting tough,
aren't they?
◯ An act of wanting to protect oneself rather than hostility
When you are being
asserted over like that,
it feels like you are being
attacked by the other person, doesn't it?
However,
people who assert dominance like that
rather than having hostility and
directing attacks at you,
it is just a desire to protect themselves
at the end of the day.
They don't want to be looked down upon by those around them, and
they themselves
just want to believe
that they are superior.
Surprisingly, some of them are harboring feelings of anxiety,
or even feelings of
remorse.
But,
there are people who feel that
if they don't protect themselves like that,
they cannot maintain their self-esteem.
◯ Do not engage in competition
As for the key to
interacting with such people,
it is not to compete.
The moment you engage in competition,
you have lost.
Show a moderate amount of empathy and validation,
saying things like "I see"
or "That must have been tough."
Affirm them
within a reasonable range.
I suspect
that it is unlikely
they will attack you any further.
And then,
try changing the subject
to something positive.
It could be about a recent event, or
if you have a common topic,
that's even better.
If you just try talking about
someone like Shohei Ohtani,
it's unlikely to lead to
any kind of conflict (laughs).
Even with a topic like Ohtani,
if someone only complains or expresses dissatisfaction,
they are definitely someone you should stop associating with (laughs).
◯ Secure your own peace of mind
I am conscious of this myself, and
there are times when I can't manage it, but
when you have peace of mind,
you can let things slide.
But for those who find themselves
unable to stop worrying about it,
they themselves lack peace of mind.
If you're not careful,
you might even end up
trying to assert dominance
over others yourself.
However,
you might just be kind-hearted
or patient,
and simply going through a time
where you lack peace of mind yourself.
Therefore,
let's find a way to
secure your own
peace of mind.
Don't take on work too easily,
delegate to others,
get plenty of sleep,
and so on,
because if you don't keep
your own mental state in good condition,
you might not be able to
easily brush off such people,
so rather than focusing on the other person,
first check if you have peace of mind yourself 😌

An event will be held online on 11/9 where
chosen individuals who have taken on challenges this year will gather
to boost the motivation of those
who want to take on challenges or
take action next year.
People who have challenged themselves with various things this year
will talk about why they were able to take on those challenges,
why they decided to do so,
and how they went about it.
It is a seminar via Zoom,
but it is free,
so I would be happy if you could
keep it in the back of your mind.
I think there are still few people
preparing for next year,
so if you take this opportunity to get involved,
you might be able to get a head start on others,
and we are preparing talks
that will provide good learning,
so please join us!
You don't need to show your face, and you are free to join or leave at any time,
so please don't worry 😌
