🕊 The Saniwa's Daily Life 《Chapter 15: Inner Laws, Outer Peace》
"Do you believe in that?"
One day, I was suddenly asked that.
Things like charms, warding off evil, or fortune-telling...
I suppose I might have been just "pretending to believe" in them somehow.
If someone tells me, "This is the right answer,"
I feel relieved somewhere.
But that is,a state of entrusting your own senses to someone elseisn't it?
Because we are anxious,
we crave "guarantees from the outside."
But that guarantee is a little different from true peace of mind.
On the other hand,
for example, when you suddenly become aware of the movement of the stars,
or when you feel "this is the way" without anyone telling you so.
In those moments,
there is a sense that something within truly "knows."
That is
different from mere assumption,
and it is not because someone told you so.
Wisdom from the outside, and senses from the inside—
When both of those suddenly overlap,
something that could be called a "law"
might emerge within us.
And,
I think that moment
is when we can truly feel at peace.
Not a peace that comes from clinging to something,
but a peace where the inner and outer resonate beyond anything,
a gentle yet unshakable "peace of mind."
Today as well,
perhaps we are searching for a small harmony
between what is visible and what is invisible.
