The Scatman Protecting Our Home's Peace
The weather is bad today, so we decided to spend the day playing at home. My eldest son, who loves Ultraman, spends most of his time playing pretend battles. Whether using soft vinyl figures or becoming Ultraman himself, the battle games vary.
It seems he is obsessed with fighting invisible monsters today. When this type of battle game is chosen, I am allowed to stick to being a spectator, which I actually appreciate. I don't have to worry about getting my hands hurt by stray shots from the soft vinyl figures.
Battle after battle, Ultraman—or rather, my eldest son—is drenched in sweat as he takes on the infinitely appearing monsters. I often hear parents worry about putting their kids to sleep on days spent playing at home because they have too much energy, but as you can see, that's not a problem in our house.
At the start of the battle, he announces his finishing move names loudly,
"BEEEEEAM!! BAAAAANG!!"
He carefully takes down the monsters one by one.
However, as the battle progresses, his excitement reaches a peak, the names of his finishing moves are omitted, and he starts firing beams at an incredible pace. Perhaps he is at a disadvantage against the monsters that keep springing up.
Before long, he is just repeating "Bee-bang! Bee-bang! Bee-bang!" as long as his breath holds out. I have nothing but respect for the speed at which he unleashes those moves—or rather, the speed of his tongue. His voice is also projecting well.
His performance is truly just like
that of the famous 'Scatman'.
For the sake of a healthy sleep tonight, I'll let him stay on stage just a little longer. Not only to protect the peace of the city, but so that a quiet peace may also visit our Sunday night.
