Suehiro-gari Ranbu Yagai Matsuri

I participated in Suehiro-gari on 9/18 (Monday, public holiday)!!
I took the train there and the official bus tour (to Tokyo) back.
This is a record of just enjoying the live concert without lining up for merchandise or collaboration food.

*There are no spoilers regarding the performance content

From Tokyo Station to Fujikyu-Highland Station

The schedule was to arrive at Fujikyu-Highland 2 hours before the start

11:21 Departed Tokyo Station on the Chuo Line Special Rapid
To the final stop, Takao Station

12:18 Departed Takao Station on the Chuo Main Line
The transfer is on the opposite side of the platform, so there was no confusion,
Boarded the last car

12:59 Departed Otsuki Station on the Fujikyu Railway Line
The transfer involves going up and down stairs, but it only takes 1-2 minutes
It gets crowded from here and you can't sit down

13:53 Arrived at Fujikyu-Highland Station!!
There is only one ticket gate, so it was crowded. I got through the gate around 14:00
I also received a commemorative boarding pass🗻

14:15 Received my admission ticket at the window and entered the park
Lined up for about 10-15 minutes
The bag check finishes quickly once you drop off your luggage

It was a long journey of about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
I was prepared for not being able to sit for the roughly 1 hour on the Fujikyu Railway Line, but since I was able to sit the whole way from Tokyo Station to Otsuki Station, I didn't find it too difficult. (This may vary by person.)
If your luggage is heavy or you have a lot of it, you might get tired.

Things I did after entering the park

Perhaps because there was a breeze, the shade was incredibly cool!!
A bench in the shade near the entrance happened to open up, so I had a meal with the food I brought.

I went to the restroom in the park before heading to the venue.
When I lined up before 15:00, it only took about 5 minutes, but when I went outside, there was a long line, so I was glad I acted early!!

Go to the restroom early!!!!

The restrooms in the park near the Conifer Forest side (hereafter referred to as Conifer) were especially crowded.

There were lines for some of the panels, so I gave up on them.

This is Enomoto-san, whom I was lucky enough to photograph

If you really want to take pictures of the panels, you have to come much earlier...

From Fujikyu-Highland to Conifer Forest

If things go smoothly, you will arrive in about 20-30 minutes. (From the station side)
But!!!! I remember it being around 15:10, but the exit gate heading toward Conifer was backed up all the way to Starbucks.
It must be terrible later on... how scary.

You won't get lost. Most people leaving the park are heading to Conifer. Just follow them.

It's a long way even after leaving the park.
Going up stairs, walking through the parking lot...

I, I made it~!!!!!
Seeing things like this gets me excited. It really feels like a festival...!!!

Inside Conifer Forest

I entered around 15:25, I think?
There are many ticket gates, so just go to one that's open.
Entry was smooth since there weren't many people yet.

The afternoon sun is painful...
The back of the seating area was already in the shade, but the front was still getting hit by the afternoon sun, so I took refuge in the shade.

I had some time, so I decided to check out the temporary toilets on-site. Aren't about 90% of the temporary toilets Japanese-style? I peeked into one, and there were two large mosquitoes buzzing around inside.
I happened to find a Western-style one, but there were small bugs stuck to it.
By the way, the Western-style ones were at the exit side of the long row of toilets.

Don't imagine temporary toilets like the ones at Rockin' (Rock in Japan Festival). These are old-fashioned temporary toilets. Toilet conditions are important. Especially for women.

The spacing between seats is narrow as well. The space in front and behind is also narrow.
It's not as spacious as the arena seats at Yoyogi for Ranbu Fes 2022.

Performance starts at 16:30.
After about an hour, the front area also became shaded.
It was definitely cooler once it was in the shade.
It gets gradually darker, so the penlights look really beautiful.

Conifer Forest seating

The stage is wide horizontally, and the main stage is viewed at an angle.

My seat this time was near the mini-stage.
There are also large aisles in front and to the left.

A float came from the arrow next to the stage

The stage configuration this time has many mini-stages, so even if you are far from the main stage, you can still enjoy it—in fact, you don't have enough eyes to see everything.
Screams go up from somewhere, but I don't know what's happening...

The float was close, so I could hear their actual voices...
Seeing so many well-groomed faces at such close range...
My memory just disappears.

And during the performance, it's busy with standing up, sitting down, and hydrating. lol

From regulated exit to boarding the bus

The performance ended at 19:30. That's about 3 hours!! It ended in the blink of an eye...

There was an announcement for a regulated exit, but the majority of people headed for the exit without waiting for it.

In fact, it was a regulated exit after waiting for those people to clear out a bit.

I was called and left around19:35.
They call by left and right numbers regardless of the line.
Since my number was low, I was lucky to leave early.

You get stuck first when you leave the venue and pass through the parking lot.
The flow is as bad as unhealthy blood.
The footing is dark!! I walked with my penlight on!!

19:50 I passed in front of the 7-Eleven near the bus tour meeting point.

Then I lined up for the parking lot toilet.
It takes about 20 minutes because the line is quite long.

20:10 I headed to the reception for the Tokyo bus.

Go here for anything other than the Shinjuku bus
The Tokyo bus is at the very back

It seemed like the previous bus had just left, so
it took a little time until departure.
The seats and which bus you take aren't decided, so it's like you board in order of reception, and it departs whenever the seats are filled.

As a result, I boarded the busabout 50 minutes after the performance ended.
There were still people waiting in line, so I think there were more buses after this one.

From Fuji-Q Highland to Tokyo Station by bus

20:20 Departed Fuji-Q Highland

21:00 Traffic jam (presumably) starting around Dangozaka SA
Not a complete standstill, but moving at a crawl
The traffic cleared up after passing the tunnel

21:40 Passed Hachioji IC

22:45 Break at Ishikawa PA (approx. 10 minutes)
Announced that there would be no more breaks until Tokyo
Since it took longer than planned, we were able to have a break

22:55 Departed again for Tokyo Station

23:30 Arrived at Tokyo Station
Got off in front of the Shin-Marunouchi Building

About 3 hours... it was long, but it's nice to be able to sit all the way to Tokyo Station...
Thank you, official tour bus!!!!

Since there was obviously no last train home, I went to the hotel I had booked.
It was a long day. Thank you for your hard work.

Items I was glad I brought

・Frozen drink (600ml)
・Sunscreen
・Insect repellent spray
・Body wipes
・Cooling towel
・Bucket hat
・Handheld fan
・Large towel
・Large plastic bag to put my bag in
・Ramune (candy)
・Filling food

I'm the type to sip my drink slowly, so one bottle was enough until I got back to Tokyo Station.
Also, since it was frozen, it was useful for cooling down.

Insect repellent spray
I brought it because I get bitten by bugs often.
Thanks to that? I returned without getting bitten.

Body wipes are for odor control.
I have many bad memories of people next to me smelling at concerts, so I'm particularly careful about odors.
A personal must-have item. Let's all go home feeling good!!

Cooling towel
I definitely want you to bring this.
I couldn't have endured the setting sun without it.

Needless to say, if you don't bring a hat, your head will...

I ate the food on the bus ride back.
Even if you eat before the concert, you still get hungry. It helped to have it...

RaincoatThe chance of rain was 20%, but I brought one. A top and bottom set from Workman.
Just in case there was a guerrilla rainstorm.
If I brought it but didn't use it, well, that's fine.

Finally

A concert at the foot of Mt. Fuji was a first-time experience.

Honestly, I hesitated to go.
I often go to festivals, but Conifer is, well, the location... lol

It's hard to get there and back, but because there were mini-stages and floats that came close, the satisfaction level was high.

Above all, I was very satisfied to see my favorite performer singing happily outdoors!

I think you should bring opera glasses if you have a seat with a view of the stage. Otherwise, you don't need them. lol

May the remaining performances also be wonderful outdoor festivals ˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗
