Preparing for the end of the year means setting your mind right 《Self-care diary for 12/24–12/30》

How about a
break ☕ right about now?

Hello. This is RaM.

Today is our regular Wednesday
time for a realistic daily snapshot diary.

I have taken the liberty of
setting a constraint of expressing each day
in three sentences.

It has been quite a while since I started this diary, and
reflecting for 10 minutes every day has become a habit.

If you would like,
please take a peek
at RaM's daily life 😊

12/24 (Wed) A Christmas Eve spent chasing tasks

Another day spent entirely on work.

It's not that I can't do it, but it seems to be draining me quite a bit, to the point where I can't read or write on note.

A rare Christmas Eve where I even let go of the things I love for a while.

Thursday, 12/25: Kind cheers are the source of my strength

I managed to get through today thanks to the kind cheers from the wonderful people on note.

It's not quite finished yet, but I've reached the stage I wanted to be at by the end of the year, so for now, I want to give myself a pass 🙆‍♀️

My reward for today is to have a warm, comforting Japanese-style dinner with the weight off my shoulders.

Friday, 12/26: A late Christmas party

I somehow finished my work and finally welcomed Christmas.

I prepared a lot of food (the hamburger steaks were pre-formed ones, but a higher grade than usual...), and for a lazy person like me, it was quite a feast of a dinner.

We are a couple that doesn't drink alcohol, but just for today, we toasted with mimosas—good job on the past year.

Saturday, 12/27: I want to put off unpleasant things, but...

I've been trying to prepare for visiting my in-laws next week since this morning, but I feel anxious because I'm not making any progress at all.

I think I want to stop working as a small act of resistance against having to stay there for so many days.

After eating a slow lunch and taking a nap under the kotatsu, I felt like I could try a little harder.

Sunday, 12/28: The homecoming circumstances of a highly sensitive person

Taking the Shinkansen home just to see my sister's family and her young children has become my annual year-end tradition lately.

It is fun because I get stimulation I don't usually have, but in my parents' house where there is constant noise, my brain capacity gets completely overwhelmed, so it is also a day that reminds me I can't get by without letting off some steam occasionally.

Feeling a bit relieved after boarding the Shinkansen for the return trip, I sensed a headache coming on as soon as I sat down, so I quickly took some medicine and decided to sleep.

Monday, 12/29: A fleeting moment of solitude

I spent the day completely off-duty to prepare for the information-overloaded days that will begin again tonight.

My heart is heavy, but since there is no option other than going, I took a nap and ate the things I wanted to eat.

Preparing for the tension, my top priority is to relax my mind and keep it calm.

Tuesday, 12/30: Ending the year at the theme park, but beware of complacency

While I was taking some time for myself at the theme park, an emergency occurred where my husband, who was doing his own thing, had gotten whiplash.

Perhaps the strain caught up with him because he has been pushing himself hard every day, driving his tired body to the limit.

This holiday season, I'm facing a high-difficulty mission for someone socially awkward like me: I have to communicate with my mother-in-law and brother-in-law without being able to rely on my husband to mediate, and I'm already feeling a great deal of anxiety right at the start of the holidays.

Greetings for my final post of 2025

Today is New Year's Eve, isn't it?
I am currently visiting my mother-in-law's family home, but my husband fell ill yesterday, and seeing him look so miserable—as if he were having a year's worth of ailments all at once—is breaking my heart.

Perhaps this is a message telling me to stay alert and focused during the holidays.

I keenly feel the importance of health,
and I was reminded once again of the restlessness that comes with never knowing what might happen in life.

And, my heart can so easily become unstable when something irregular happens...

Rather than just lamenting, I want to keep my feet on the ground and calmly do what I can right now.

Well then, thank you very much for all your support this year.

I believe that thanks to a life with note, I was able to spend a very fulfilling year every day.
Thank you so much 🥹

Wishing you a happy New Year 🍀
