Introduction

In this article,
I will be taking on the challenge of #WritingClubPrompt!

~Today's Prompt~

In honor of "Cherry Blossom Day,"
"How many minutes in bloom is my life right now?"

To begin with, what do the stages of cherry blossom blooming mean?

Information about cherry blossom blooming
has started to be reported frequently on TV as well. ✨

When I see cherry blossoms 🌸,
I visually realize that spring has arrived.

The best time to see cherry blossoms
passes in the blink of an eye,
but I also find charm in that fleeting nature.

There is a sense of security in them blooming every year,
and somehow, the air starts to feel like spring,
so I really love this season.

Now, before thinking about how many minutes in bloom my life is at the moment,
I did a quick search
to see what each state refers to.

From blooming to leaf cherry blossoms

Blooming: A state where 5 to 6 or more flowers have opened on the specimen tree

Three-tenths bloom: A state where about 30% of the flowers on the specimen tree's crown have opened

Half bloom: A state where about half of the flowers on the specimen tree's crown have opened

Full bloom (eight-tenths bloom): A state where over 80% of the buds on the specimen tree have opened

Beginning to scatter: A state where petals have started to fall

Leaf cherry blossoms: The period from when the cherry blossoms have scattered and young leaves have started to appear until it is covered in fresh green

The reference site is here.

Regarding the blooming period of cherry blossoms,
it seems there is a difference depending on the region and climate,
lasting about 10 days to about 2 weeks.

If it rains or strong winds blow,
they will scatter faster,
so I pray every year that that doesn't happen.

How many minutes in bloom am I right now?

Thinking about how many petals have bloomed in my life right now,
my intuitive answer is
thirty percent bloom .

In terms of my age,
it might be about time for me to be at a fifty percent bloom.

I realized this after I started writing on note.

For a long time,
I hadn't truly been living my own life
at all.

Certainly, my body was there.
And my heart was moving, too.

But I feel that I have often just gone with the flow,
letting time take its course,
moving without any will of my own.

Myself—I have come this far without ever looking at the substance of that word.

I think this was
a form of self-defense,
so I don't want to deny my past self.

Once I took a step
out of the world where I had become too comfortable,
I was able to learn so many things.

I gained the realization that
my state of being and perception could change so much
just by how I hold my feelings and how I am conscious of things!

It's frustrating because I can't express it well, but
I finally feel like
I have found a place where I can be.

Whether on note or in real life,
perhaps this reset period since my previous job
has been very meaningful.

The reason I described my current location as
thirty percent bloom this time
is that I am also including my expectations for my future self.

As I live my life from here on out,
not everything that happens
will be positive, right?

I will fail, I will worry,
and of course, there will be times when I feel deeply discouraged,
but I feel that I will be able to think about things

from a different perspective
than the me of the past.

Afterword

I intended to write this quickly,
but I ended up talking more than I thought I would💦

For the first time in several years,
I am welcoming spring with a bright feeling.

By a bright feeling, I mean
that I am feeling positive,
thinking, "I think I'll give it a try"🌱✨.

I was able to notice this feeling
thanks to the writing club's prompt🎶.

My parents' home is in Aomori Prefecture, but
actually, I have never been
to see the cherry blossoms at Hirosaki Park.

Because it is always incredibly crowded,
I have missed the chance to go.

Until a little while ago, the cherry blossom blooming
used to coincide with Golden Week,
but recently, perhaps due to global warming(?),
I have the impression that they have often
finished blooming before Golden Week.

I have been thinking that I would like to go
to the Starbucks in Hirosaki Park at least once🥹.
The building is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, isn't it~.

I hope I can go this year🎶.

Thank you very much
for reading until the end!

It would be a great encouragement
if you could leave a like, comment, or follow.

May happiness come to you
for reading this far🍀.
