How to Spend a Free Day: Doing What You Love and Filling Your Heart to the Brim

Hello. This is RaM.

Out of all the many articles on note, thank you so much for catching sight of this one and reading it😊

On this note account, I weave together my own thoughts, lessons learned, and tips for daily life while living in a way that cherishes myself.

Please, relax and take your time here♪

In my previous post, I also expressed my joy, saying, 'A free day has arrived!'

In today's article, I would like to write about how I spent that exciting day.

It will be a short outing diary, but if you'd like, please read until the end.

To that place I wanted to go

The place I chose to go to on a day to fill my heart is this one.

Yes, it was Starbucks. (Some of you might have guessed it.)

The store I visited this time is the one located inside the Tagajo City Library in Miyagi Prefecture.

Actually, in a past article, I had mentioned this as a store I wanted to visit.

This store is located inside the library and Tsutaya Bookstore, and you can enjoy reading while having coffee, making it a perfect place for a relaxing 'oshi-katsu' (supporting your favorite things)✨

The reason I was waiting for a chance to go alone is because my husband cannot stay in quiet places for a long time. (Perhaps he has some traits.)

He doesn't particularly like reading, and it seems he gets bored. (lol)

Since I was going to the trouble of going, I thought,
I want to read a book at my leisure!
So I had been waiting for
the right moment to go
by myself.

From Sendai Station,
take the JR Senseki Line and get off at Tagajo Station.
Once you leave the station, it is right in front of you.

(Side note)

By the way, the JR Senseki Line
connects Sendai and Ishinomaki.

Speaking of Ishinomaki City,
it is home to the museum of manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori.

The other day, someone
visited it on TV, didn't they?

In connection with that, on the JR Senseki Line,
there is sometimes a special train
called the Mangattan Liner running.

*I didn't have a chance to ride it this time, but
I happened to take a picture of a train stopped at the station.

Now, back to the main topic.

I have arrived✨

The library opens at 9:00, but
the Starbucks is open from 8:00.

The library before opening.
Isn't it refreshing to have a Starbucks sign
at the entrance of the library?

Actually, I had visited once before.

I went on a weekday that time, so
it was empty and I had a very comfortable time, but
Saturdays might be crowded, I suppose💦
Predicting that, I woke up early and headed out.

Entering the store while it was empty.

Inside the store
In the morning, the library entrance is locked.
Until 9:00, you can only enter the Starbucks.
There are also terrace seats. They are quite spacious.
On days with good weather, it's nice to have something outside too✨

Thanks to my efforts to wake up, I arrived around 8:30 AM.
There were a few customers here and there, but most of the seats were still open.

There were terrace seats, so I thought about going outside, but the main draw of this Starbucks location is being able to enjoy books along with your coffee.

So, I sat down at an indoor table.

The terrace seats visible from inside the store. The greenery was beautiful.

What I had that day was a Triple Espresso Latte (iced), with less ice and extra milk.

When I want to relax, I tend to order hot drinks because I don't like it when the ice melts and dilutes the flavor, but it was too hot that day to order a hot one. Haha.

Before the library area opened, I finished one article and set it to be posted at the usual time.

Once the library and Tsutaya Bookstore opened, I headed out to look for books right away.

I read several books that day, and I have posted one of them as an article.

It was quite interesting, and as someone who posts on note every day, it was a book with a lot to learn from.

I fully enjoyed my alone time and headed home.

After that, I spent my time wandering around the note community.

I cooked and ate a meal for myself, did a pedicure, and even did something I usually avoid—eating snacks before bed—fully enjoying my free time.

Bonus anecdote

Beauty-related topics rarely come up on my account.

My fingernails are too thin, so if I'm going to do my nails, it's foot nails only.

Until about a year ago, I was obsessed with collecting nail polish, and I especially liked the product lineup from ParaDo sold at 7-Eleven.

Even though I bought every color,
partly because I was recovering from an illness last year,
I hadn't been able to use them.

I finally opened them,
and for the first time in a while,
I enjoyed styling my feet.

I added the 2023 Spring/Summer Sunahama Soda,
and some glitter with the Pink Opal that came out in Spring/Summer 2022.

Since it's a place no one will notice,
it's purely for my own satisfaction.

But that's what's good about it, isn't it?

Conclusion

I'm looking back on it thinking...
what a fulfilling time I had by myself.

I went to places I can't usually go,
ate delicious food,
did what I love,
and felt refreshed✨

Going where I want to go at my own pace,
and being able to read the books I want to read.

There might be no greater happiness than this.

If I was riding the JR Senseki Line...
I thought maybe I should have gone to a tourist spot like Matsushima,
but since my main goal was to visit Starbucks locations,
I completely skipped them.

If I can go again someday, I'll report back to you😌

Thank you for reading until the end!

It would be a great encouragement if you could leave a like, comment, or follow.

To you who have read this far,
may happiness come your way🍀

I look forward to seeing you in the next post.
