Every student receives a certificate at the end of two months. A sense of achievement turns into confidence.
Because we want to make effort 'visible'
At Rakuei Swimming, we do not have advancement tests or badge systems.
Swimming is not actually something to be 'compared with others.'
If you have progressed a little more than you were yesterday, that is a wonderful achievement.
However, I remember when I used to work at a large sports club.
A child who had worked hard for two months failed because they were just a little short of 25 meters.
That child quietly looked down.
'I worked so hard, but it didn't pay off.'
I still cannot forget that expression.
That is exactly why I want toproperly praise.
I want toacknowledgethat they kept at it for two months.
Born from that desire is

Three thoughts put into the certificate
① Coach's comments
The coach who has watched them for two months
conveys their unique growth in words.
'At first you were scared to put your face in the water, but now you can do it with a smile.'
'It was wonderful how you cheered for your friends.'

② Child's comments
The children themselves look back on their own growth.
'I was able to blow bubbles from my nose!'

On the final day, we hold a small awards ceremony.
Children have their names called and receive their certificates with both hands.
Even if they are a little nervous or shy,
every child has a proud look on their face.
The eyes of the parents watching them are also kind and warm.
'You really worked hard these past two months.'
Such words can be heard naturally.
A 'chain of smiles' that spreads after returning home
When they get home, the children say,
'Look, look! I got this!'
Fathers, grandfathers, and grandmothers also smile.
