Creating gold products that evoke a sense of wonder, beyond just physical assets and jewelry.
In September 2023, the price of gold exceeded 10,000 yen per gram. With global conditions currently unstable, attention toward gold is only increasing.
This time, I would like to propose something beyond physical assets like ingots or jewelry to wear and enjoy,
gold creations that evoke a sense of wonderI would like to propose.
First, I believe the value of gold can be broadly divided into three categories.
They are primarily the value of the cash exchange market, asset value
its dazzling appearance and historical legends, existential value
and its sustainable, renewable material value
I believe these are the three.
While all three are important when discussing gold, I think existential value is the closest to what evokes a sense of wonder.
What is gold that evokes a sense of wonder?
To begin with, gold is
said to have existed since ancient times and is one of the first metals discovered by humanity.
The history of gold is said to have begun between 7000 and 8000 BC,
and legends remain such as, 'The Sumerians of the Sumerian civilization were actually aliens who descended to Earth to collect gold and build a civilization.'
and so on.
Furthermore, gold is
something that cannot be created on Earth.
It is said that the substance known as gold cannot be born without the energy generated by massive collisions between planets.
Also, since the Middle Ages, people have been desperate to create gold through alchemy; while modern technology has made it possible to create diamonds, it is said that creating gold would require an enormous amount of cost.
This means that it is
a metal that is not born on Earth and a metal that even aliens have been obsessed with since ancient times.
That is what it means.
It has a sense of romance, doesn't it?
In fact, it is nothing but romance.
And
this 'golden color of gold is something no other metal possesses.'
For example, silver colors start with silver, and there must be dozens of others like titanium, tungsten, aluminum, platinum, and palladium.
'Gold is the one and only golden-colored metal.'
This is also romantic, isn't it?
In fact, it is nothing but romance.
Such is gold, but
in Egyptian mythology,
it is said that 'it was considered a part of the body of Ra, the sun god who illuminates all things, and was worshipped as a substitute for the sun.'
Sun = Gold
This is also romantic, isn't it?
In fact, it is nothing but romance.
There is still more.
Ancient people
used the unique hue and luster of gold
as a charm against evil..
I suppose even demons would run away if they saw gold, wouldn't they?
Though I feel like they might be drawn to it instead.
Next, something essential when talking about gold is
"Gold as a symbol of wealth and the authority of kings."
Famous examples range from buildings and burial items like Tutankhamun's mask, the Konjikido at Chuson-ji Temple, Kinkaku-ji, Wat Phra Kaew in Thailand, the Inca Empire, and El Dorado,
to things related to circulation such as gold coins, koban, and currency,
it has played an important role all over the world.
These are, perhaps,
beyond the word romance,
more like "power," wouldn't you say?
Lastly,
speaking of being full of romance,
"The Gold Rush, where people dreamed of striking it rich"
is also indispensable.
According to research, it is said that about 340 tons of gold were mined in a few years due to the Gold Rush that occurred in California, and since this amount is about 10% of the current annual mining volume, you can see that it is an extraordinary figure considering the tools and machinery of that time.
➡ There is also talk of 750 tons.
By the way, on average, 300,000 people mined 340 tons (340,000,000 grams), so
per person,
if 300,000 people divide 340 tons equally,
340 tons = 340,000,000 grams
340,000,000 grams ÷ 300,000 people = 1,133.33 grams/person
In other words,
it comes to 1,133 grams per person.
That means "1 kilogram" per person.
That is just too full of romance.
And,
when you consider that a region with a population of 200 grew into the state of California, which now boasts the largest population in the United States of about 40 million, after 300,000 immigrants arrived during the Gold Rush,
Doesn't this story also evoke a sense of romance?
The value of gold, overflowing with such romance and power
Especially for men
For those who feel a bit of resistance toward jewelry
I have come up with products that are
"gold that evokes romance"
aimed at such people.
The romance-filled pure gold series
is planned to proceed with the following concepts in mind:
・Symbol of power: Pyramids and Ra
・Limited resources: A substance that cannot be created on Earth
・Get rich quick: The dreamed-of Gold Rush
How will we proceed with this?
1. Objects
2. Stands for BABYGOLD
3. Jewelry
as
And, as the first installment of our romance-filled gold,
the "Gold Rush" for getting rich quick
development has started.
I will be posting updates on the products currently under development!
Please look forward to it.
