A story about how I thought these people might actually be my peers
The commuter train this morning.
It was the usual scene, with everyone reading books or looking at their smartphones.
At that moment, a thought crossed my mind.
There might be someone among them who, like me, is tapping away at a note. Or rather, there probably is.
Thinking that, my heart suddenly felt at ease. A sense of camaraderie sprouted on its own, and I stopped minding the crowd.
People who just happened to board the same train at the same time.
Among them, there might be someone who is doing the same thing—writing on note.
Just imagining that it might be the person in the next car, or perhaps the person right next to me, or maybe that person over there, made me happy.
With that fantasy, my simple self was in a happy mood from the morning.
I've recently been participating in Ken Honda's Happy Writing Marathon project.
In response to this week's prompt, 'What if you followed a small intuition?', I wrote, 'I will take the plunge and join an online community.'
I can feel changes happening within me, little by little. A desire to connect with someone.
I have a feeling it will be a very warm place.
Autumn makes one feel lonely, but I'm sure it's more than just that.
I'm grateful to myself for starting to write!
