AI has been making progress in translation and interpretation lately

The initial trigger was this article.
I was deeply moved, realizing that the prospect of high-quality AI translation had finally arrived. If you sell AI translation while requiring your own employees to speak English, people would ask, 'Is that product you're selling a fake?' I thought 'banning' might be going too far, but I also felt it was a message to employees who only speak English and to management departments that can only evaluate people based on TOEIC scores, telling them to 'do their jobs.'

Since then, DeepL and ChatGPT have been created (personally, I prefer and use Perplexity AI, lol). It's a bit of an old article, but it's better to have more options.

Of course, those who want to succeed in language studies should do so, and there are still situations where it is necessary.
However, this country should not have the luxury of failing to utilize talented individuals just because they are not good at English.
People who think they are special just because of their language skills should know their place (including people I've actually met, those in economics who use mathematics to think and debate for themselves are often decent, but those in business administration who just import overseas knowledge or talk about the feelings of their predecessors often seem to be the 'overseas-expert-wannabes' mentioned in the article below...).

I wonder if there are even better tools out there now... so I looked it up, and it turns out there are apps that use generative AI to automatically translate videos and add subtitles. That's amazing...
