🤔 Koo's Pee Problem and My All-Nighter Problem (lol)
🌀 Busy days and the all-nighter problem
This time of year is always hectic.
I know I say this every year about preparing for tax returns (lol), but this year is twice as busy.
The reason is—
An incident occurred where I could no longer use the email address I've had for years.
That started a furious 'rush to change registered emails' 🌀
After working nearly all night for the first time in a while, it's taking me forever to recover.
As you get older, the damage from an all-nighter really hits you hard 🫠
To make matters worse for my exhausted body, last night Koo kicked me awake and said,
“I'm hungry~”
Talk about adding insult to injury after an all-nighter.
But strangely, I still wake up at 6 AM as usual.
Even though my body is falling apart, my habits are still going strong 🤭
🐾 Koo's pee problem occurs
The other day, Koo's pee became a dark color, and he seemed to have trouble going in the morning, taking a long time,
and sometimes he would just try to eat his food with a look that said, 'It didn't come out, but oh well~'.
That's when I suddenly realized,
“Come to think of it, I haven't been adding hot water to his food lately...!”
I used to add plenty of moisture to his pre-made meals, but since he had a few days where he wasn't eating well, I just started microwaving them, which likely led to a decrease in his water intake.
🍚 Liver sprinkle strategy to increase hydration!
I thought, 'This won't do!' so I made some homemade liver sprinkles to make him want to eat even with extra water added.
I wanted to incorporate organ meats anyway, so it's killing two birds with one stone!
Koo was super excited while I was making it,
pacing around the kitchen with a look that said, 'That's definitely something delicious!'
And when I actually sprinkled it on his food,
he went from looking like, 'This is bland and gross...' to licking the bowl clean, as if that had never happened 🙌
💖 Koo's recovery and our home care policy
As a result...
He started drinking plenty of water again, and his morning pee is smooth.
The color has returned to its normal state 🙌
If I had gone to the vet, I'm sure they would have prescribed medication.
I know vets have to focus on symptomatic treatment, but at home, I want to provide care that addresses the root cause as much as possible.
If that doesn't work, I'll have to go to the vet, but for Koo right now, the vet is his biggest fear.
That's why I want to help him live as peacefully as possible 😌
