250909 Things I'm glad about being an adult
Stopping by a bookstore after work and buying a few books that catch my eye without any hesitation.
Every time I do that, I think, 'Ah, being an adult is great.'
I bought volume 7 of 'Ohitorisama Hotel' released today, and 'Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop,' which I had been curious about. The Hyunam-dong Bookshop book has this quote at the beginning.
A town without a bookstore is not a town.
You might be able to call it a town,
but you know yourself that you cannot deceive your soul.
I get that, I totally get that.
Personally, the towns I like are those that have a bookstore, a flower shop, and a cafe or coffee shop.
I have my apartment lease renewal coming up next year, so I've been going to viewings whenever I have time, but I'm not drawn to towns that lack those three things... I like towns that feel culturally rich.
I want to continue enjoying moments where I can think 'being an adult is great,' so a town with a bookstore might be a must-have condition. The number of bookstores is decreasing rapidly now, but I want to prevent that as much as possible...
Living in a town with two bookstores in the neighborhood, I guess I'm really spoiled.
