Six Months of Writing on note: A Personal Reflection
Good evening, everyone🌙
This is Akari Tsukiyono.
About six months have passed since I started using note.
I am not particularly good at writing, nor have I ever been confident in it,
but the reason I have been able to keep going this far
is because I had "a little bit of courage" and "a word from someone."
I was happy when clients and colleagues from my previous job
would compliment the emails I wrote.
It was a small reason, but
I decided that I wanted to try and keep doing something for a while!
In this article,
I would like to summarize the "three realizations" I have had after continuing note for half a year.
I hope this will be helpful for those who have just started note and are thinking, "I want to write, but I'm worried if I can keep it up," or for those who have stopped writing.🥰
1: I was full of anxiety at first
At the beginning, I was full of anxiety, wondering, "Is this kind of writing okay?" or "What if no one reads it?"
But when I took the plunge and posted, I was so happy to find that even someone unknown like me had people giving me 'likes' and leaving comments,
and it gave me the courage to think, "Maybe I can do this too."
It doesn't have to be perfect.
I realized that by writing as my "authentic self," it can actually reach someone.
2: I became able to organize my thoughts
By continuing to write, I have become able to organize my habits of thought and the things I was worried about.
For example, even events that I initially thought were "tough",
when I put them into words, I realized, "Actually, I was working hard," and
it became an opportunity to praise myself.
Even though it seems like I am writing for someone else,
I feel that note is actually "a place to have a dialogue with myself."
It has naturally become a time for me to re-examine myself, like meditating through a dialogue with myself,
and before I knew it, it had become a habit.
3: It is easy to get feedback
The amazing thing about note is that you can feel someone's reaction in real-time
through "likes" and "comments."
The "likes," which were zero at first, gradually increased,
and I began to think, "There are people watching," and "Maybe it's okay to keep going like this."
Just one person saying "I read it" is more encouraging than I ever imagined!
That is a realization I wouldn't have had if I hadn't tried writing.
Compared to others, I might still have few followers,
but it feels like a dream that so many people are following a beginner like me.
Aiming for 100 friends (followers)! lol
Looking back
Being able to continue for half a year has become a small source of confidence for me.
I hope to continue enjoying "writing in my own way"
at a pace that feels comfortable for me.
And if this article can gently nudge someone
who is thinking, "Maybe I should give it a try," I would be happy.
Once again, I look forward to your continued support.🥰
If you'd like, please take a look at these as well.
I have published two other books, but I'm still a bit embarrassed about them...💦
I will continue to work hard and improve!
