[Tokyo Essay 119] Inspiration from the Manga 'Hellsing'
Since it feels like everything that can be said about Kouta Hirano's 'Hellsing' has already been said, I will write only about the inspiration I drew from it.
Not to mention his subsequent work 'Drifters,' it is about the insatiable human desires, the extraordinary, and the views on life and death that lie at the foundation.
That the ordinary and the extraordinary are fused.
That death and life are neighbors.
That satisfied desire either becomes an endless desire leading to further desire, or transforms into boredom.
That one can easily vanish without anything being satisfied.
That the word 'resignation' cannot be found anywhere.
To wage war against the world all by oneself.
That there is only consistency between words and actions, and a complete absence of cognitive dissonance.
That everything, without exception, is a trade-off.
That everything ultimately comes back to oneself.
