Manjushage Park

I decided to go for a Sunday drive and visited Manjushage Park. It is located in Hidaka City, Saitama Prefecture. My wife and I set out to see the cluster amaryllis blooming in a sea of red. It was truly a park covered in a carpet of deep crimson.

Unfortunately, the peak viewing time had already passed, but I am still very grateful that I was able to encounter such vibrant cluster amaryllis as shown in the photo.

I have added a note to my Google Calendar for next year to aim for the peak viewing time around September 23rd.

As a reminder, since I visited after the peak this time, I was able to get into the parking lot easily. It seems like it would be very congested during the peak season. I will consider coming early in the morning or taking the train next time.

By the way, just a week ago, I saw cluster amaryllis in Mie Prefecture. I go for regular walks with my elderly mother. She showed me a beautiful photo of spider lilies (cluster amaryllis) that my late father had taken.

"Aren't these beautiful spider lilies?" my mother said.
"Where did you take this?" I asked.
"They are blooming on the embankment along the nearby Meisho Line. They are just at their peak, so let's go see them," she said, and we went for a walk together, side by side.

We even encountered a train that only runs once every two hours (it's a diesel train, not electric, though).
