I have been posting on note every day for half a year, 180 days, and I have decided to intentionally stop that streak
Thanks to you all, I have been posting on note every day for half a year. I initially started with the goal of posting for 21 consecutive days to build a habit. After achieving that easily, 30 days passed, then 60, and it firmly became a habit; I now feel great joy that it has become a hobby.
Looking back now that half a year has passed, I am surprised myself that I was able to post every single day without missing one.
This is a notice to the 125 people who follow me. Please be aware that there will be no post tomorrow.

The background to being able to continue on note
I had never blogged before, and I didn't have a habit of reading blogs like Ameblo every day. I have accounts for Twitter and Instagram, but I never post, and I rarely even check them.
I only post on Facebook about once a month, and I often use a book-specialized SNS called Booklog, but it is a memo-taking SNS for my own use with almost no followers or people I follow, and no community.
Given this state, I am impressed that it is a strange thing that I started note and have continued it. I will look back on why I am continuing.
Article topics
To write note articles, you need topics. I had already created a topic list from the past. I consider this a major factor. It is a handwritten notebook named Morning Pages. This is my topic list. When I returned from my morning walk, I would write down whatever was aimlessly in my head.
It has accumulated quite a bit, and since I have a habit of organizing my thoughts while drawing diagrams, I also created diagrams in Keynote when uploading them as articles to note.
Another topic list is the mind maps I write after reading. When I started note, I thought that if I ran out of topics, I would upload mind maps as note articles and write book reviews.
When I started note in October 2022, I already had about 100 mind maps, so I started note with the plan that I wouldn't run out of topics for a while.
Currently, I have only uploaded 19 items to the magazine: "Reading & Mind Maps," so it seems I won't be running out of topics for a while yet.
During these six months
During these six months, I had three overseas trips and multiple domestic trips, and I spent five hours traveling to care for my mother at my parents' home, where I go to stay for about five days once a month. Once I go overseas, I stay for about a month, so I'm not exactly living settled in my home in Tokyo either.
I am impressed by my own ability to continue, considering how much I have been traveling and staying away from home.
Since I am not working, I have plenty of time, so having a fulfilling time writing on note is a perfect hobby for my second life.
Why I am stopping consecutive posts: Reason 1
The reason for interrupting the streak even though I still have topics is to step out of my comfort zone. I need to intentionally leave my comfort and challenge myself with new things.
I want to secure the capacity to accept new things by intentionally freeing up the time I was using my brain to write on note.
I haven't found what that is yet, but I will consciously make time to find it. I'm not quitting note, just slowing down the pace, so stopping daily posts is the first step toward starting something new.
If I seriously find something, I have three hours every day to play with my cat, so I might reduce that time🐈. (People might say I should start there, though...)
I've started looking forward to my life from here on out again.
Why I am stopping daily posts: Reason 2
To be honest, even though it became a hobby, I had been thinking that I didn't necessarily have to post every day. Thanks to everyone, it hasn't become a burden, and I had decided that if it ever did, I would stop immediately, but I haven't felt it as a burden yet.
Since daily posting was never my original goal, I'm going to dare to stop posting here for once.
I've reconsidered that I don't need to be conscious of the posting timing. So, I won't be posting tomorrow (April 1, 2023). I am supported by followers who read my posts without fail every day and give me 'likes,' so I'm letting you know here that there won't be a post tomorrow.
I'm not quitting note itself, so I will continue to post whenever I feel like it, when I have ideas saved up, or when I feel like writing.
Why I am stopping daily posts: Reason 3
I chose a clean number. Today is March 31, 2023. I started writing on note on October 1, 2022, so it's been exactly half a year.
And, the number of articles I've posted is 200, which is a nice round number.

The daily posting streak has reached 182 days, which is half a year. Exactly half of 365 days.

Every day, I receive a pop-up from the cute note-chan to maintain my motivation, like the one below. Part of the reason I kept going was because I was happy about this.

When I read about the daily posting habits of many other creators, I saw some who had made it their goal. In my case, daily posting is not the goal, so I realized this doesn't apply to me.
Also, many people aim for round numbers like 100 days or 365 days. I aimed for 21 days and achieved it, so I thought this was also not a goal that applied to me.
Future note activities
I decided not to post tomorrow, 4/1, but I still have an urge to have people read the ideas I've saved up. So, I will resume posting from 4/2. After that, I will continue posting irregularly once a week for half a year until September 30, 2023.
If you'd like, I would appreciate your continued support.
