I interpret this illustration as meaning that helping someone else is not a loss for me. It means that I can help someone by sharing the knowledge, experience, resources, or love and compassion that I possess.

In my second life, I feel like my own flame is lit in this way. Through casual conversations or volunteering, for example.

For instance, I can share my successful experiences and tips at work with someone. I can share them by writing notes or through conversations with friends.

My own secrets do not diminish; rather, I might be able to make it possible for someone else to succeed.

Similarly, when I can support and help someone, I gain a sense of satisfaction. And I am able to feel the joy of being relied upon by more people.

Coaching is about making an already lit flame burn brighter.
Counseling is about sharing a flame with a candle that has gone out.

I think that's how it feels.

Some people might feel anxious that their own flame will go out when they light someone else's.

It won't go out!
Because a candle doesn't just go out, right?

If it does go out, you can just have someone light it for you!
