Cebu Island Stay: Christmas Party
I participated in a Christmas party, which was one of the main purposes of my stay in Cebu this time. Currently, I am staying at the office of the NPO DaredemoHERO. This is a Christmas party hosted by DaredemoHERO, where 125 children from impoverished backgrounds were invited.
It was the largest Christmas party I have ever attended. Since their families also participate, the number of meals to prepare was for 300 people!
The participating children included not only DaredemoHERO scholarship students but also children from the Inayawan Learning Center, the Caleta Cemetery Learning Center, and the Lapu-Lapu Learning Center.

If I were to describe the party in words, it would be something like this:
Smiles, smiles, smiles
Cheers, cheers, cheers
Smiles, smiles, smiles
Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude
Smiles, smiles, smiles

Words don't really capture it, do they?
I will post some photos.

The party began with the singing of the national anthem. The venue was the Talamban Family Park. It was outdoors. It started under the scorching sun with a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius.

Dance Contest Held
As a guest, I served as a judge to evaluate the performances of five teams. Everyone practiced so hard and their cuteness was bursting forth, making me tear up involuntarily. The idea of giving them different scores was just too cruel for me to handle.

Lechon, a dish of roasted whole pig, is very delicious. It is a luxury dish that is indispensable for Christmas. It feels equivalent to turkey in Japan.

Philippine cakes are often square and chocolate-flavored. Everyone was stuffing their mouths full.

The afternoon was a game tournament. The photo shows a game where people form a human centipede and run around chairs to compete. It was incredibly exciting, filled with a mix of cheers and shrieks.

The presents received from Japan have certainly reached the children's hands. Thank you to everyone who provided support.

We have received support from individuals and corporate sponsors. As one of the donors myself, I feel proud. Thank you all very much.

Since I was invited as a guest on the day, I was able to receive such a wonderful Christmas message card.

To those who donated via the 'Support if you like' feature on my note, thank you very much. I am using it as educational funds to support the children.
While not exactly a perk, I have been sending real-time reports on Cebu Island information and this Christmas party to those who supported me via individual emails and messenger.
Please understand that I will continue to send reports at my own whim.

To everyone who has read my note
Thank you for always reading.
Continuous support is needed. If you would like, you can support us starting from 100 yen, so your cooperation would be appreciated.
