My Trial-and-Error Menu: Food & Desserts Served at JAM ④
Hello.
Last time, I introduced parfaits.
This time, I'd like to introduce a slightly more mature-style sweet.
I call it
Janis's Chocolate Mousse
This is a menu item I came up with based on the fact that I ran a music bar and love music.
Janisrefers to the rock singer
Janis Joplin.
Janis's favorite drink wasSouthern Comfortwhich is a rather sweet liqueur, so I thought of a sweet that would pair well with it.

Chocolate goes well with alcohol, doesn't it? Like Kisses chocolates served in a stylish glass dish like a snack.
Since my shop also served coffee and tea, my plan was to serve it as a regular dessert, and then add this alcohol to turn it into a sophisticated, adult sweet.
This is probably a famous recipe, but it's the one where you make mousse using a chocolate bar and marshmallows.
【Chocolate Mousse】
Ingredients
Milk: 200cc
Chocolate bar: 1 bar
(Meiji Black Chocolate)
Marshmallows: 1 bag (80g)
Garnish: to taste
Silver dragées
Whipped cream
① Put the milk in a heat-resistant bowl and microwave at 600W for 1 minute.
② Add the marshmallows, stir, and microwave for another minute.
Take it out of the microwave and stir well. Depending on how well it melts, add about 10 seconds at a time if needed.
③ Break the chocolate bar into pieces, add it in, and mix well. It will melt because the mixture is hot.
④ Once it has cooled down to room temperature, pour it into stylish glasses and let it set in the refrigerator.
At this point, air bubbles will form, so if you scoop them out with a spoon, you'll get a smoother, more beautiful mousse.
Once set, top with whipped cream to your liking and add a few silver dragées to finish.

As shown in the photo, if you drizzle Southern Comfort over the chocolate mousse and eat it, it becomes a very rich and delicious adult dessert.
It looks stylish too❣️
The glasses used are cocktail glasses.
Since marshmallows are quite sweet, I recommend using bitter chocolate.
For those who don't drink alcohol or for children, please serve it as a regular chocolate mousse.
You can buy silver dragées at 100-yen shops too.
When I was at JAM, I used marshmallows sold at 100-yen shops as well.
I was able to make 5 servings with cocktail glasses, so it was very cost-effective.
It goes well with whiskey, doesn't it?
Southern Comfort is also very delicious when mixed with soda, so please give it a try.
