It wasn't about cleaning. What's happening in my 'home power spot'

In our living room, the sweet peas I bought at the florist are growing beans, and the gerberas are turning into fluff (thumbnail image).

Sweet peas

Usually, cut flowers don't last that long. The flowers wither before they turn into beans, and they scatter before they turn into seeds. I was taking good care of them, changing the water and adding preservatives to make them last, but I think it's quite rare for them to reach this stage. Even the florists were surprised!

As I watched this phenomenon, I started to think, maybe the energy in our house is good?

Sometime ago, my mother said something like this.

'A house that is too tidy is not relaxing.'

This phrase has stayed with me, and I feel the same way. In fact, when I was running a share house, it wasn't a house that was too tidy. There were quite a lot of things. But the visible areas were organized, and it felt orderly.

Perhaps that 'just right amount of space' is relaxing, because people often gathered there.

At a trial session for a certain course, I was given the task of opening all the windows and washing all the curtains every day, which led me to start cleaning the places that bothered me.

Then, I felt that this would be good to do with someone else, and while I was cleaning, thinking about how I would present it if I were to do it,

I had a flash of inspiration: 'That's it! Since I go to a shrine every day, it might be good to make my home a power spot like a shrine!'

'I'm thinking of creating a space where we can work together to make our homes power spots like shrines.'

I told this to a friend with whom I have been sharing insights for over 15 years.

Even though nothing had taken shape at that stage, the friend immediately said, 'I'm in!'

'Oh, oh. Is that so?' I was a little surprised, but at the same time, I thought, 'Alright! Let's do it!' and my switch was flipped.

I immediately set up a Discord server and got things moving.

From there, I reached out to people close to me, worked with those who were interested during the pre-opening to refine the content, and was able to successfully release it.

A friend who raised their hand when there was nothing at the very beginning sent me their impressions after one month since the pre-opening.

I've noticed that, although it's intuitive, I'm doing less of that thing where I'd normally just say 'Oh well' and gloss over my true feelings about how I really want to do things or how I really want things to be.

It feels like I'm experiencing firsthand that while this might seem like a small change, reducing even a little bit of that glossing over of my true feelings might actually be the secret to improving my QOL.

So, I've also realized in just one month that the key to truly feeling the immense value of this is to be involved for a long time lol

Since I have fewer opportunities to make excuses to myself like 'It's messy, but...', I think the level of clutter has decreased, and I think the time it stays tidy has increased compared to before! The point is that it's amazing that I can feel that change even though I'm busier than I was a month ago!

Perhaps because I'm valuing myself more, I'm finding that even when negative things happen right in front of me, I'm able to deal with them calmly more often than before. I'm happy to be meeting that version of myself.

!!!!! Things beyond what I had imagined are happening.

I'd like to nurture this as a place where we can share these kinds of felt changes and realizations.

'Home Power Spot' is not a place for tidying consulting.

Tidying up what you can see at your own pace.

Just by doing that, you might stop glossing over your true feelings, or become able to face negative things calmly; it seems that such changes can happen quietly.

It's not about having to make it clean, but about moving from places where you can move easily.

First, start with what you can see.
It's fine to start from a place that bothers you a little.
Don't push yourself.
Don't try too hard.
But, build it up steadily.
