Searching for Summer in Ono

The intense heat continues, doesn't it?
Thinking that this is a summer where life shines brightly, I wanted to do something summery, so I spent a day sightseeing in Ono City, a place I had been curious about.

1. Lunch at "Prato Cafe"

With treehouse seating, the view of Kamo Pond from the deck seats was wonderful, and it was a space where time seemed to flow slowly.

I ordered the pasta lunch set. Every appetizer was exquisite, and they used plenty of peaches, which made me feel the season.

The prosciutto cream pasta topped with lemon was refreshing, and the lemon flavor made me feel summer even more.

Also, I explored Kamo Pond by boat at the nearby Matsuo Boat.
Fish were swimming, and dragonflies were flying over the water's surface.

2. "Jusangatsu no Mado" (Window of the Thirteenth Month)

A quiet atmosphere flowed here, and it was a place where I felt that "doing nothing" was a luxury.
I ordered the strawberry cassata and iced coffee with an ice cream topping.

The gentle flavors spread throughout my mouth, calming my heart.
The seasonal peach tart was sold out, so I want to try again next time.

And, the main goal of the day.

3. To Himawari no Oka Park (Sunflower Hill Park).

I couldn't believe it was only 30% in bloom; the sunflower field was in full glory, and the scenery was even better than I had imagined.

I went in the evening, so the slightly softer light illuminated the sunflowers, and the yellow of the translucent petals was very beautiful.

People taking walks, people taking photos, a child pulling their mother's hand while staring at a sunflower bigger than themselves.
Seeing everyone enjoying summer like that was so dazzling and warmed my heart.

In closing

Eating delicious food, spending time slowly in a lovely space, and finally seeing a summery landscape.

It was such a fulfilling day.

Although there were many places in Ono City that I visited for the first time, it was a wonderful town that I would love to visit again in a different season.
