"I was blessed with the warmest people imaginable" | Ori Wada
Self-introduction
Hello! I am Ori Wada, and I have been working as a charity auction specialist. At university, I mainly study Middle Eastern culture, comparative religious studies, and international exchange theory. I am currently job hunting and will be a fourth-year university student in April.
Introduction to my responsibilities
As a charity auction coordinator, I am involved in fundraising. I reach out to celebrities to ask for personal items to be donated, which we then list on "Yahoo! Auctions." The proceeds from the winning bids are used to support children in Kenya and Uganda. My main tasks include contacting celebrities to request their cooperation and managing communications to ensure the auction process runs smoothly.
The most memorable part of my work at PLAS
The most memorable experiences were actually visiting the PLAS office to work and receiving cooperation from someone I had reached out to. Until then, I had been communicating through online meetings and similar channels. I remember how happy I was when our schedules aligned in mid-February, and I was finally able to meet the staff and other interns in person. I performed tasks such as photographing auction items and sending out thank-you letters. After work, I deepened my connections with the staff and other interns at a social gathering, making it a very fulfilling day. Also, I feel a great sense of achievement when someone I personally contacted agrees to cooperate. It motivated me to keep working hard on new outreach efforts.
A final word!
I was blessed with the warmest people imaginable. I want to continue taking on new challenges without forgetting to treat others with a warm heart myself!
