Nice to meet you: A place to receive peace of mind, not courage
I rewrote the profile I wrote on the winter solstice at the time of the summer solstice.
The scenery I see has changed a little between who I was six months ago and who I am now.
I used to always try to solve something.
About my second son who has a disability.
About money.
About what happens after I am gone.
About my father who developed dementia.
About myself.
How can I make things go well?
What is the right answer?
Should I try harder?
I was always thinking about things like that.
But recently,
it is not that I feel better because I found the answers,
but that by changing how I see things a little,
I have learned that my body and mind have become lighter.
There are no special answers in my articles.
All there is are small changes in perception that I have found in my daily life.
Raising a child with a disability,
and preparing for what happens after I am gone,
Caregiving,
Household finances,
Things that didn't go as planned,
Taking the long way around,
And nothing but failures.
Even so, those experiences might be useful to someone.
Thinking that, I write on note every day.
Things I have experienced.
Things I have worried about.
Things I have been lost about.
Things I tried and was glad I did.
Things I failed at.
If these can be a hint for someone walking a similar path,
please feel free to take them with you.
And, if there is anything you would like to ask,
please feel free to reach out.
I am not a special expert,
but if it is about things I have experienced firsthand,
I am sure there are things I can talk about.
I love passing on the things I have experienced to others.
When that becomes useful to someone, it makes me very happy.
If, after reading this,
"Oh, maybe this is fine as it is"
and you feel your shoulders relax a little.
And when the experience I have shared comes to life in someone's daily life,
without exaggeration, I feel that "I'm glad I'm alive."
When impatience unravels.
When you try sitting with your regrets.
When you let go of attachments.
When you take a break from searching for the right answer.
Sometimes, before you know it, the scenery changes.
If my articles can become
a place where you can think, "Oh, maybe this is fine as it is,"
a place to receive peace of mind, not courage.
This is what my note is to me now.
