Towards an Era Where AI Provides Support: How to Start Your Own 'Personal Medical Chart Bot' with NotebookLM
Hello, this is Pinoko.
Today, I'd like to write about my recent physical condition.
I just hung out the futon, and my chest gave a sharp 'snap' 😱
I hesitated to write about something like this, but...
it might be something others can relate to,
and it helps me organize my own feelings, so I decided to write it down.
One morning, I was hanging out the futon.
And when I was bringing it in, the futon, the hard part of the balcony, and the hard part of my clothing's zipper somehowmade a perfect combo and pressed firmly into the center of my chest and pushed it.
At that moment—
“Snap!!”
“Ouch!!”
It echoed inside my body, just like a sound effect in a manga.
“Huh? What was that sound!? Was that me!?” I was in a slight panic.
It was a movement I usually wouldn't even think twice about, but for some reason that day, my ribs
felt like they had been 'cracked' with a shock...
It was a pain so intense I thought it might be the first time in my life, and I couldn't move for a while 😰
I took it easy for two or three days, but the pain didn't disappear completely...
In fact, I did my morning radio calisthenics and stretches 'out of habit'
and found myself thinking,
“No, stop doing that now,” wanting to snap at myself.
It doesn't hurt if I don't move, but if I put a little strength into it, I go 'Ugh...'.
Even deep breaths or coughing make the inside of my chest throb, so it's quietly making daily life difficult.
Furthermore, since I'm currently receiving Opdivo, at unexpected moments,
anxiety crosses my mind, wondering, “Is this related?”
Don't you ever find yourself worrying about strange things?
Of course, it might just be a sprained rib, and it's possible it's completely unrelated.
But when it comes to pain that's hard to judge like this, it makes my heart feel a little lighter to vent it somewhere rather than keeping it all to myself.
No, no, shouldn't I be consulting my doctor instead of writing it here 😅
Conclusion: I will honestly consult my doctor. Peace of mind is the best thing 👌
■ 1.5 years facing esophageal cancer
Before I knew it, various data such as health records, medical expenses, and realizations have accumulated.
・How was my physical condition that day?
・What did I eat that day?
・How much were the medical expenses for that month?
・What was the medicine I was given?
・Have I had the same symptoms before?
And so on
Even when you try to look things up, if the information is scattered, you won't find the answer right away.
It's the kind of thing where time just melts away while you're searching.😅
I thought it would be nice to be able to consult it about my current health concerns as well.
💡 That's when I came up with the idea of a personal AI bot.
I've finally decided to execute an idea I've been nurturing for a long time.
🤖 Creating a Bot with NotebookLM
✅ Personal AI Medical Record project.
✔ No unnecessary information at all
✔ Organize only what is necessary
✔ Focus on experiences, my own sensations, and the attending physician's explanations
✔ Turn that into a personal AI bot
NotebookLM is what I started using to build it, but...
It's not progressing quite as I'd hoped.
Maybe the way I'm inputting information is wrong, as there are times when it doesn't return the ideal answer yet.
But you know, this is actually good. It would be boring if it were finished immediately.
Because the moment of trial and error followed by 'Oh, I did it!' is the most fun part.
I'd like to proceed at a relaxed pace with the goal of completion in 2026.
■ Health is just too important
I realize it again, but health is truly important.
When you're not feeling well, nothing moves forward.
You can't focus on creative work or your job when you're physically uncomfortable, can you?
Next year, my Opdivo treatment will end, and my injury and sickness allowance will also end.
That means it's finally time to start moving in earnest.
I have some anxieties, but I also have high expectations.
AI will likely continue to evolve rapidly in 2026, and my AI medical record is scheduled to grow along with it.
While facing my physical condition, I'll take it at my own pace without rushing.☺️
