Master Cat's Hospital Visit and Introduction 🌹🐾😊
Today,
was Master Cat's hospital visit day. Since the symptoms are stable,
we had been getting by with just prescription refills for a while,
but since it had been a little while since the last checkup,
I was told we should have a physical examination as well,
so we went to the hospital for the first time in a while.
Master Cat was diagnosed with epilepsy,
last July.
That day,
right after I said "Good morning" as usual,
it happened.
Suddenly,
Master Cat started spinning around,
and while crashing forcefully into furniture and walls,
ran around the room.
I didn't know what was happening,
and was just filled with surprise and anxiety.
Perhaps,
it might have been better to just watch over him quietly.
But I,
thinking I just didn't want him to get hurt,
held him firmly in my arms,
and while keeping him from moving,
gently covered both his eyes with my hands.
When I peeked at his eyes during it,
his eyeballs were moving in an unnaturally rapid way,
and I thought, "This might be a neurological symptom."
After a while, the eye movement stopped,
and when I let him go from my arms,
as if nothing had happened,
I walked there as usual.
No sooner had I felt a little relieved than,
within less than 30 minutes,
a second episode occurred.
As if chasing his own tail,
he started spinning in circles again.
Thinking I had to get him to the vet immediately,
I put him in his carrier,
and headed to the hospital.
At the hospital,
they said it was likely a neurological issue.
However,
whether it was caused by something like a tumor,
or if it was not something like that,
but rather a problem with the brain itself,
they said it was necessary to distinguish between the two,
so tests were conducted.
As a result,
he was diagnosed with epilepsy,
and oral medication treatment began.

When he started taking the medicine,
he became more listless,
his gait became unsteady,
and unlike before,
he could no longer jump gracefully.
Watching him,
I felt as though his 'cat-ness'
had been lost.
There was also the option of not giving him the medication.
That is precisely why,
I wondered more than once if this was truly the right thing to do.
My heart was conflicted.
However,
when I looked back at the reason why I chose the medication treatment,
the answer was simple.
To suppress the epileptic seizures,
to reduce the damage to his brain,
and for him to live safely and peacefully.
That was the most important thing.
Not within the evaluation of 'cat-ness',
but while managing his current situation well,
I wanted him to spend his old age peacefully.
That was my wish.
After about half a year,
he gradually got used to the medicine.
Although some heaviness in his hips
and a slight unsteadiness remain,
he no longer bumps into things while walking,
and he is living safely and peacefully.
I thought,
that is what matters most.
Also,
when I think about how much longer we can spend together,
I sometimes feel lonely.
However,
rather than only thinking about the future,
I want to cherish the time we spend together right now.
To live together during the time we have been given.
That is,
what I can do right now.
I believe that is what I can do for now.

Now then,
thank you for waiting🙂↕️🌹🐾
Here is an introduction to Master Cat.
His name is "Guri"😊🐾
His breed is British Shorthair,
and he is the model for the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland🐾🌹
He was born in Shizuoka in 2013,
and I welcomed him with the boyfriend I was dating at the time😌🐾
A lot has happened,
and we parted ways in our 10th year😊
The Master has many skills🌹🐾
Snuggling,
listening,
providing warmth,
regulating human autonomic nerves.
Teaching people and nurturing the vessel of the heart,
and general mental education, you see🌹
He also has many specialties🤗🐾
Mindfulness,
being himself,
being carefree,
not putting on a facade,
not reading the room,
separation of tasks,
and quickly finding bugs🐝🐛Eek~😩
Claiming territory.
Things he likes💕
Playing with light☀️
Food,
sunbathing.
Things he dislikes☹️
Vacuum cleaners,
nail clipping,
the doorbell,
thunder⚡️
and hospital visits.
That is all,
though it is brief,
for my self-introduction🙂↕️🌹🐾
From here on out,
I would like to continue spending peaceful times,
together with the Master.
Thank you for staying with me until the end,
thank you very much🙂↕️🌹🐾
