【30s Denmark Trip】Why I liked the semi-private capsule hotel CityHub

Copenhagen is expensive, and hotels are even more so. You can't even stay in a business hotel for 15,000 yen. But I was worried about dormitories... so I stayed at the stylish and affordable capsule hotel, CityHub.

A capsule hotel, but semi-private
CityHub is a capsule hotel, but it's a semi-private hotel with enough space to open a suitcase. Unfortunately, the bed itself only has enough height to sit up in, but you can stand up in the space where you change clothes or open your suitcase. I have claustrophobia, so I was worried, but it was fine! However, I feel like it might be a bit tight for two people with suitcases in one room.

Convenient shared spaces
It's quite clean, partly because it's new. There are shower rooms, toilets, and a unisex sauna. There is also a workspace and a kitchen, so it's very convenient.In Copenhagen, dormitories often charge for kitchen use or for storing luggage before check-in or after check-out. This capsule hotel offers these for free, so I think it's very convenient. Also, since there is a workspace, it's easy to open your laptop during the day.
However, there is no laundry.
Check-in is done via a monitor at the entrance, but since reception is always nearby, I felt at ease even if I had any trouble.

A bit far from the central station, but well-stocked with large supermarkets and other shops
It is a 17-minute walk from the central station. You can walk it, but I think it's tough with a suitcase. I recommend using the nearest subway.
The road has heavy bicycle traffic, so you need to be careful of bikes before 9:00 AM and in the evening.
There are large supermarkets, bakeries, and cute shopping streets nearby, so it's a very convenient area for those who want to save money during their stay.

It's quiet at night and you can sleep right away
The hallways are carpeted, so you don't really notice people's footsteps, and it's quite quiet. I wasn't woken up by people's voices and was able to fall asleep right away.

Breakfast is also reasonably priced and selectable
This capsule hotel itself doesn't include breakfast, but you can choose nearby shops at a discounted price. When you tell the hotel reception that you have breakfast included, you get a special card to take to the shop. I chose the one with Grod. It comes with a porridge plate and coffee. However, the porridge alone is cheaper, so if you don't need coffee, it's better to go directly to the shop and buy it individually rather than choosing the breakfast-included option.

You can use discounts wisely
In addition to discount codes on Instagram, there are also multi-day stay discounts and early bird discounts. For Black Friday in 2025, they were offering 1 day free for a 3-day stay.

Although the distance from the station is a drawback, it's safe, clean, and affordable for Copenhagen, so I thought it was a capsule hotel I could repeat.
