[Denmark Trip in my 30s] Are there pitfalls to the CPH Studio Hotel with a kitchen?
In a country like Denmark where the cost of living is high, some people might consider hotels with kitchens. I stayed for a few nights at the CPH Studio Hotel, which happened to be cheap during Black Friday, so here is my record of it. It was a hotel that I felt had a few pitfalls.
The location is decent
The CPH Studio Hotel is located on the M2 metro line, halfway between Copenhagen International Airport and Nørreport Station. Unfortunately, there is no direct line to Copenhagen Central Station. However, if you are sightseeing in Copenhagen, Nørreport Station is much more convenient than the central station, so I personally think the location is decent. It is located right in the middle of a residential area, so it is not unsafe. If you get off at Kongens Nytorv Station, just before Nørreport Station, you are near Nyhavn. There is also a supermarket within walking distance of the hotel.

As an aside, Nørreport Station is served by both the metro and the DSB (trains that run above ground), so it is also a useful station if you want to go to the countryside from Copenhagen. Trains to the Ordrupgaard Museum and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art also depart from here. It is also the closest station to TorvehallerneKBH, a food hall popular with Japanese tourists, so I personally feel it is more convenient to base your sightseeing around this station.
Well-equipped kitchen area
I had booked a single room, but I was upgraded to a nice room called a studio apartment. It was a very spacious room. The kitchen was well-equipped with a refrigerator, induction stove, kettle, microwave, and a set of pots, pans, and a cutting board. However, there was no cutlery or a spatula, so I was left wondering how on earth I was supposed to cook.Of course, there were no kitchen knives either. Also, there were no sponges or anything to wash dishes with. If you are going to cook, you need to bring your own cutlery, dish soap, and a sponge. That said, Copenhagen has a relatively good selection of frozen foods and meals that can be heated in the microwave, so having a microwave was quite convenient.

It is very clean, but depending on the room, you might be in full view of the apartment building next door
The room was very clean and flawless. Tea and instant coffee were provided, and there was also a hair dryer. However, the room is right next to a regular apartment building, and you can see right into the apartments. Denmark has a culture of not closing window curtains, so it felt even more exposed. Of course, the hotel room has blackout curtains, but those who are concerned should be aware of this.
Shower sandals are essential
The shower room only has a partition curtain, and there is only a slight slope toward the drain, so the whole toilet area gets soaked. If you are staying with two or more people, I recommend bringing sandals for the shower room.
Laundry is 20 Kr
Laundry was 20 Kr each for washing and drying. Since the school was 20 Kr for washing and 7 Kr for drying, I think this is a reasonable price. The room is dry, so even if you don't use the dryer, if you wash your clothes in the evening, they will be bone-dry by the next morning. You pay at the reception, get a laundry tag, and then do your laundry. The wash cycle took one hour.
Maybe it gets hot in the summer?
There was a fan in the closet, so it might be necessary in the summer. There is a temperature control panel for the air conditioning, but it doesn't have what you would call an air conditioner, so it might be difficult to adjust the temperature on some days.
On the other hand, it is true that if you expect to cook, you might be surprised. However, the cleanliness and such were impeccable, and I had a pleasant stay. My personal impression is that it is worth it at a sale price!
