In my 50s, not trying too hard to try hard. A record of my first day as a freelancer

Hello.
I am Papi, a troubled adventurer.

After taking a leave of absence and then resigning, I started a new way of working in June.

It has been a while since I last updated my articles again...
But there are so many things I want to write about!

First of all, I have finally... officially... taken my first step as a freelancer.

As I wrote in my previous article, I was able to receive work through a service contract, so I have started working.

This is my return to work after about half a year.
Here is the article I wrote at that time.

I also created a Papi (my husband) character.
Next, I want to create Ren (ChatGPT) too!

I am still too much of a novice as a freelancer, to the point where I haven't even made business cards yet.

From the very first day,

"I don't have a business card yet, but... nice to meet you. I'm Papi (provisional)."

That is how I introduced myself. Lol

Moreover, I couldn't sleep much the night before because of the nerves...
I was desperate to get my body back into work mode after such a long time.

During the times I was just listening, there were moments when my consciousness would drift off if I let my guard down...

Thinking, "This is bad," I kept waking myself up in my heart. Lol. Sorry about that 🙏

Yesterday, I spent the whole day visiting the work site and the company.

Since it was my first time working in a while, both my mind and body were completely exhausted, and for some reason, after I got home, I just kept watching "Detective Conan" on a loop.

Anime that you can watch without thinking about anything is just perfect for days like this.

My family kept telling me,
"Go to sleep early!"
Lol
And before I knew it, I was binge-eating sweets too...

The people in charge were all very kind. They explained the work I would be involved in and gave me a tour of the company, and my brain was completely overloaded for the first time in a while.

But since I will be able to work remotely about three days a week in the future, I am truly grateful for this environment.

However, as I am receiving work under a service contract, there is also the pressure that I must produce results.

Although I thought about what I could do on the train ride home, my mind was completely blank.

From now on, I'm going to try not to try too hard at trying hard.
I plan to move forward little by little without pushing myself, while valuing my own pace.

Also, lately, I have a backlog of things I want to write about, such as my Threads account being suspended and my overflowing feelings for Arashi.

It was a real shock that Threads suddenly disappeared and became unusable just as I was starting my new job 😭

But I plan to write about that, including everything else, little by little in other articles.

Moving forward, I want to gradually document my way of working as a freelancer, my challenges with side hustles, and what happened after I took a leave of absence.

🍀 I have compiled information on systems like unemployment benefits and injury and sickness benefits, as well as information on re-learning, in this magazine.
