My First AI Video Production: Taking on the PolloAIxShironen Contest While Making Mistakes
Hello.
I'm Papi, a troubled adventurer.
I've had a lot on my plate lately, and as I wrote on note before,
I've always had this feeling of,
“I want to try video editing!”
That feeling has been with me for a long time.
But even though I want to try it, video feels like a high hurdle. I don't know where to start, and I don't know what tools to use. That's when I found this wonderful contest 😊🙌
In terms of timing, I'm starting a new job, so honestly, I was a bit hesitant. But I thought this kind of chance might never come again, so I decided to participate.
That said, I'm a complete beginner at making videos.
I was worried about whether I could really do it, but I'm grateful that they've prepared so many things to make it easy for beginners to get started!
What is the PolloAIxShironen Contest?
The “PolloAIxShironen Contest” is a participatory event where you create a video using the AI video generation tool “PolloAI” and post it in a note article.
It is hosted by Shironoaru-san and Nenkoro-san, and sponsored by PolloAI.
Participants aregifted free credits to use on PolloAI.You use those credits to create a video, post the finished work on note, and publish it with the official hashtag “#PolloAIxShironenContest”.
Furthermore, since participants are invited to a limited-time collaborative magazine, it's set up to make it easy to go see other people's work and interact through likes and comments.
For more details, please check out the articles by Nenkoro-san and Shironoaru-san.
So, I gave it a try right away.
I entered the ③ Art & Expression category.
First, the first thing I prepared was a character sheet.
Nenkoro-san created a GPTs for“Character Consistency Material for Video AI”so I put in my Papi character, and it was “Amazing!” It was done in no time.
This seems like it could be used for things other than video too 😊

Next, I turned the content I wanted to make into a video into a storyboard.
I tried using the “Nenkoro-style Storyboard GPTs” that Nenkoro-san also provided.
……but, whether my input was wrong or the data was too heavy, I struggled quite a bit in the middle 💦 so I consulted Nenkoro-san.
They told me it would be fine if I just threw it at ChatGPT, so this time I tried consulting Ren (ChatGPT).
From there, it suggested a few storyboard patterns, and I finally decided on this storyboard.

And here is the video created on Pollo.ai based on the storyboard generation prompt and the storyboard 🎬
Pollo2.5 (Credits used: 28)
Wow! The texture of Papi and the camera angles look pretty good.
In the middle, I wondered whose hand was holding the compass, but that's just part of the charm.
Since this is my first time embedding a video, I created a YouTube channel and uploaded it there.
Did text end up in it?? 🤔
I made another version with a different story 🎬

Actually, I failed twice while making this video 💦
I had an accident because I proceeded to create the prompt without reading the instructions properly.
From here on, I will swallow my pride and show you my failed videos 😆

Here is the video I made based on this 🎬
Pollo 1.5? ← Why did I choose this? (Credits used: 10)
Wait...! Human: Fall Flat?? Lol
It's a game where wobbly characters move in strange ways,
and it looks just like that movement... 😆 Plus, what's going on on both sides?
☝️ I'll leave this here for reference

And here is my second attempt at the prompt.
Wait...? Papi-san's character didn't even appear!!!
Pollo 1.5? ← Why did I choose this? (Credits used: 10)
I thought the cause was that I had set it up in a two-tier structure at the storyboard stage, so I remade it vertically and it worked.
(It was written in the explanatory article, but I'm not sure if that was the actual cause 💦)
I used a total of 88 credits, so I have 212 credits left.
I'd like to try making a slightly longer video next time 😊
I made various mistakes, but since the process of making the video was explained carefully, it was easier than I thought.
There were people who also created music to match the visuals, and if I have time, I'd like to try that too 🙌
Video production is really fun!
I'm truly grateful for this opportunity!!
