Why the Japanese Communist Party is on the Path to Extinction
—The ideals are beautiful, but the end result of politics that got the order wrong—
The Japanese Communist Party promotes many pleasant-sounding words such as "peace," "welfare," "human rights," and "SDGs."
In reality, there are not many people who deny the ideals themselves.
However, the Communist Party is now rapidly losing support.
The reason is simple.
It is because their arguments are detached from reality, and they have completely misunderstood the order of priorities.
1. The fatal error of pitting military spending against the SDGs
Whenever the discussion turns to increasing defense spending, the Japanese Communist Party always says this:
"If we cut military spending, we can redirect it to welfare and the SDGs."
However, this argument completely overlooks the prerequisites of national governance.
There is an order to how a nation functions.
Protect the lives and territory of the people
Maintain and develop the economy and technology
Allocate the results to welfare and environmental measures
Without security, neither welfare nor the environment can exist.
This is not a matter of ideology, but a matter of history and reality.
One only needs to look at Ukraine to understand.
The moment the war began, the SDGs and social security collapsed instantly.
2. The dishonesty of not facing the reality of military expansion
While the Japanese Communist Party fiercely opposes increasing Japan's defense spending, they are surprisingly vague regarding China's military expansion.
As a matter of fact, China has:
Increased its military spending for decades
Rapidly expanded its aircraft carriers, missiles, and nuclear capabilities
Normalized military pressure in Taiwan and the East China Sea
is doing so.
Even so, they maintain the argument that "Japan is escalating tensions." This is no longer pacifism; it is escapism.
3. The danger of ignoring the history of how military technology has supported society
There is another fact that the Communist Party never talks about.
Many of the technologies that support modern society were born from military research.
The Internet
GPS
Microwave ovens
Lightweight materials
Disaster response technology
Medical image processing
These are all byproducts of defense and security research.
This is not an argument for justifying war. It is a reality check that fields where nations invest seriously produce technological innovation.
Blanket rejection of military research ultimately undermines Japan's technological prowess and industrial competitiveness.
4. Questions that the left-wing liberals must face squarely
Here, I would like to pose a question to the left-wing liberals.
How can you protect human rights without the power to defend the nation?
How can you solve environmental problems while rejecting the technological foundation?
Who does politics that turns a blind eye to real threats actually protect?
Ideals are important. However, ideals alone cannot protect a country.
5. Why is the Japanese Communist Party heading toward extinction?
The reason is clear.
Prioritizing ideology over reality
Failing to understand priorities
Refusing to face the dynamics of the international community
This stance leads directly to the assessment that
"we understand the ideals, but we cannot entrust them with power."
As a result,
they are steadily losing support from the younger generation and those who look at reality.
Conclusion: If you want to protect your principles, do not run away from reality.
Peace, welfare, and the SDGs are not to be denied.
However, they can only exist on the foundation of national security and technological strength.
Politics that gets the order wrong
will not be chosen by the people, no matter how beautiful the words used.
If things continue this way, the Japanese Communist Party
will quietly disappear along with its ideals.
The only thing that can stop that
is the courage to face reality.
