[Limited] Seeking people who want me to continue their work. [Job Request]
It all started with a comment relay novel.
Recently, there is something I have been hooked on within note.
That is the 'comment relay novel'.
It is a project where I provide a prompt based on a fairy tale or folklore, and the work is completed solely within the comments.
Honestly, when I came up with the idea for this project, I tilted my head and wondered, 'Why hasn't anyone done something that sounds this fun?'
While my head was still tilted, I got so absorbed in it that I ended up with a stiff neck, which was very painful.
But thanks to that pain, I became convinced.
'Creating something with someone else is so much fun♪'
Since then, the comment relay novel has continued for several rounds, and the comments I have received have exceeded 200. In terms of character count, it has reached approximately 25,000 characters. (Excluding my own contributions).
▲ Initial impulse. It was too much fun.
Basic philosophy.
When browsing sites like note or Coconala, I often see services like 'work editing services,' 'advice on creative writing,' 'coaching for writing novels,' or 'writing novels on your behalf.'
I understand that there are people who need those services themselves.
However, the service I was looking for has never been found.
Something where you can feel the 'joy of creating together.'
I had been looking for something like that.
◇
As time passes, this feeling changes.
'If no one else will do it, don't I have to do it myself?'
That thought grew stronger.
It is the same as when I planned the comment relay.
I could not ignore it.
As for that comment relay novel, as far as I know, there were no meetings or evaluations among the participants at all.
I think it is unnecessary.
Because even if you plot to 'make this character a total villain,' there is a good chance that an irregular participant will turn them into a really good guy.
That feeling of 'I am writing it, but it is not under my control.'
'What will happen next...' 'Who is this person who just appeared...' the anticipation and anxiety.
The reversal of the position of 'being made to write by the novel.'
As writers, you may know this well, but it is something that often happens even in novels written alone.
Or rather, I even think that in a novel, it 'must happen'.
Because being swayed by it is very free and fun.
And in order to 'continue' anything, enjoying it freely is essential.
▲Tracing it back, I said something similar last year.
Specific details.
Because this is a custom-made request and due to my own desire to commit to the novel, I have decided that the format should be 'a paid article that you purchase after I post it'.
The word count limit for the original work is 1,000 to 5,000 characters.
It can be something already posted or something you are about to write.
I will read it, perform the necessary analysis, research, and structuring, and then post a paid article as a 'continuation' of about 1,500 characters. The arrangement is that you, the client, will then purchase it.
The price is a flat 1,000 yen.
Since this is a monitor price, I set it to about the price of a paperback book.
Depending on the situation, I would like you to consider 1 to 2 weeks as the general deadline for me.
After purchasing, you are free to choose whether or not to make the 'continuation' publicly available for free on my account.
For now, I am anticipating recruiting about three people (one work per person).
Therefore, as soon as the capacity is reached, I will close the recruitment.
I might also return this article to draft status for rewriting, destroying evidence, altering memories, or changing the past.
Things to be aware of.
There are a few things you need to be aware of regarding this endeavor.
First, this is different from 'ghostwriting' or 'writing on behalf of someone'.
It is strictly from the perspective that a writer named Ayato Otokawa will write a continuation of that work.
Therefore, there will be no meetings regarding plot developments or settings; I will analyze, interpret, and re-develop the work solely on my own.
Of course, I may refer to other articles to understand the author's personality.
But what I want to prioritize above all else is the energy contained within the work itself.
Even if the writer intends to say, 'I wrote a gentle and soft romance!', if the work itself speaks to me saying, 'It's a bloody horror...', I will write it that way.
With that in mind, there are cases where I may judge that 'this work should not be touched,' 'I do not have enough understanding,' or 'it is beyond my capabilities.'
Specifically, this includes fan fiction, historical novels, works with strong homages, or things close to autobiographical novels.
Things that require detailed prerequisite knowledge, that is.
In such cases, after reading the work thoroughly, there is a possibility that I will decline. Please understand.
I must add that this is a response born out of respect for the work and the author above all else.
You might think of it as going to an Indian curry restaurant and asking them to make sushi.
"I cannot do that, my friend."
Finally.

Also, if you have an article that isn't necessarily a request or a novel, but you simply want me to read it, please let me know. I will go and read it.
Of course, it is also fine to consider it after that.
Please, try tasting this 'joy of creating together'.
