[Essay] I Hate Women in Love [Amano Writing Club]
I would like to write an essay on this topic.
Thank you in advance.
Rather than "women in love," I hate "myself in love."
Now that I have lived for half a century, I have become completely detached from love, and sometimes I incorporate it into my creative work because I want to feel even a little bit of those bittersweet memories...
My love life when I was young could be summed up in one word: "painful."
"Love is blind" is a well-said phrase; once you fall in love, layers of romantic filters stand in your way, making the other person look like a top-tier handsome man.
When I was young in my 20s, a man who looked like Etsushi Toyokawa spoke to me on the street, we had tea at a cafe, and we made plans to meet again.
When he said, "If it's okay, I'd like to meet your friends too," I happily invited a friend, and when we had tea for the second time, as we were leaving, my friend said,
"That's a sales pitch for English learning materials!!
And where does he look like Etsushi Toyokawa?
He looks just like Shinsuke Shimada!!"
I think I must have looked like a bird that had been shot with a bean when she said that.
Thinking, "That can't be true!!" I went to the company where my crush supposedly worked without an appointment, and a man who looked like Shinsuke Shimada greeted me at the English learning materials company with a bewildered expression.
"I don't have the money or time to learn English right now..."
When I said something like that, he also raised the corners of his mouth just a little, gave a smile, and said, "I'm currently dealing with another customer..." and smartly ushered me out of the store.
I was just as surprised as I was embarrassed.
No matter how I look back on it, I should have been having tea with a man who looked like Etsushi Toyokawa...
We should have had a passionate conversation about how learning English would broaden my world and make my life brilliant...
The person who was there that day was a man who looked like Shinsuke Shimada, who, while slightly bewildered, smartly chased me out of the store!
I couldn't believe it was the same person...
While I was stewing in my own thoughts, my friend said, "I took a picture with Etsushi Toyokawa (lol)," and handed me a photo.
Sandwiched between two friends with huge smiles on their faces was the man who looked like Shinsuke Shimada.
My friend said to me, "I'm worried about your future..." and I fiercely agreed.
Even after a few more "love is blind" incidents occurred, I eventually ended up dating and marrying someone I just thought, "It's so fun hanging out with you!"
When my friends also told me, "He's a great guy! ...I'm so glad you met such a wonderful person...", I deeply realized that my eyes had finally returned to normal.
The end.
