Extra Green Onions: A Three-Topic Dialogue Story

Ayano, the second-generation president of Pegasus Beer, decided to invite the neighborhood association members to his home for a "dinner party."

The chef who had recently joined was very skilled, and he wanted the neighborhood association members, to whom he owed so much, to taste his cooking.

The chef's name was Luca, a beautiful young man who was half-Japanese and half-French, with lovely blonde hair and gentle blue eyes.

When the neighborhood association members arrived at the Ayano residence in a group, Luca greeted them politely and guided them to the wood deck—and just by doing that,

“Is this a foreign country?”

Luca carried such a unique atmosphere that it made them wonder that.

When the "dinner party" began, the ingredients themselves were things they had eaten before, but they were served beautifully arranged on large plates, and while they couldn't quite understand the seasoning or the preparation, it was exceptionally delicious.

It was so good that the Pegasus Beer they always drank felt like the taste of home.

“This is a dish I created inspired by the Japanese beef bowl.”

On the plate Luca brought out, the rice, beef, onions, and green onions were plated with such elegance.

“This is a confit of carefully selected Wagyu beef, served with sautéed onions reduced in red wine, and a declinaison of shallots...”

After Luca explained it with a radiant smile, the members finished it in two bites.

It was delicious... it was delicious, but...

After the "dinner party" ended, the members thanked Ayano and Luca and headed home, but Ken-chan from the liquor store muttered,

“Hey, why don't we grab a beef bowl before we go home?”

At that one word, everyone hurried straight to their old favorite, Akebono Diner.

“Landlady! I'll have a beef bowl!!”

"Extra green onions, please!!"

"Extra sauce, please!!"

"Add some pickled ginger, too!"

They each placed their orders and enjoyed their beef bowls.

The next day.

Luca came to Ken-chan's liquor store to buy some sake.

"Did everyone enjoy the meal yesterday?"

He asked with a sparkling smile, leaving Ken-chan momentarily speechless, but he managed a wry smile and replied, "Of course! It was a perfect match!"

"Next time, why don't you try making kitsune udon or tanuki soba? I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!"

When he said that, Luca looked extremely surprised and said,

"Kitsune!? Tanuki!!? Is that game meat!? I've never eaten either of those... I'm always amazed by the range of ingredients Japanese people use..."

He hurriedly tried to correct him, but he couldn't help but feel a tiny bit of anticipation, wondering if this man might be able to turn even kitsune and tanuki into something stylish...?
