It is said that the human eye can distinguish 1 million different colors, but with “Mikoto Color,” we convey “your color” from among 16,777,216 colors, which far exceeds that.
How on earth is that derived?
In Four Pillars of Destiny, there is a concept called “momentum.” It is believed that a person born at “a certain time” and in “a certain place” carries the “momentum” of that time and space. The data at the moment someone is born has a specific “momentum,” and the “chart” created from birth data contains information about that person's “life” and “destiny.”
So, what does “momentum” mean in the world of “color”? It can be expressed by the combination of the “three attributes of color”: “hue,” “value,” and “chroma.” “Hue” refers to the color itself, such as red, yellow, or blue; “value” refers to the degree of brightness; and “chroma” refers to the degree of vividness. The compound concept of “value” and “chroma” is called “tone.” The “momentum” referred to here does not mean the strength of the color, so a “vivid color” does not necessarily mean it has “momentum.”

I was surprised when I saw my "Mikoto-iro". More than 30 years ago, when I bought a suit to wear to my nursing school graduation party, the shop staff recommended a blouse in this color, saying, "This color will definitely look good on you!!" Later, when I had a personal color analysis, I was told that this color suited me as well. I was trembling to realize that the color I wore because it was recommended to me back then was actually my own color. It was all connected to my life's mission, purpose, and calling that were mentioned in my Four Pillars of Destiny reading, and I wanted to know more about this color.

It is a blue-based color, but it has a hint of yellow mixed in. The place where I was born and raised is a land lush with green trees and plants, but the place I wanted to return to or felt relieved in was the sea. And when I was going through hard times or traveling with my family, it was usually to the sea. I remembered encountering a sea of this color on Kouri Island and Ishigaki Island in Okinawa. The moment I saw this color, my heart resonated and I was filled with power.
This great discovery of "Mikoto-iro" is truly amazing. Being able to encounter the moment of finding something no one has ever achieved before, and being told my color, made me feel like I had encountered a different sensation than when I had the landscape of my destiny chart viewed.
I will cherish this color and incorporate it into my daily life.

《The depth of "Mikoto-iro" that doesn't end with just "It's my favorite color!"》
Thank you very much for telling me about my "Mikoto-iro". Until I applied for "Mikoto-iro", I didn't really have an image of what it meant to know my own color. In Four Pillars of Destiny, we work on deciphering the destiny chart, aiming to live the naturalness of the chart, but I didn't know how knowing my own color would be applied to my life. Is it like a blueprint? Is it a color that represents me now? Is it a color to aim for? Is it a favorite color? Is it a color I have to like? While waiting with a little anxiety and great excitement, this was the color I was contacted about.
My first impression was, "It's my favorite color!" Moreover, the knit I was wearing that day was this color! Later, when I was told, "It was the color of your wedding dress, wasn't it?", I realized it was the color I wore at a turning point in my life (too late!), and I was very surprised. Then, I started to read carefully the explanation sheet of "Mikoto-iro" I received and the name in French. There are a few things that surprised me again.
First, it has no direct relationship with the "color of the Day Stem". My Day Stem is "Ren" (Water), but it was not black or blue. (*"Ren" corresponds to "Water" in the Five Elements, and the color corresponds to black or dark blue.) I thought that "Mikoto-iro" was derived from the entire destiny chart using a unique method, rather than simply being chosen from the variations of the Day Stem color. However, although "Mikoto-iro" is not blue-based, I felt that the "energy of starting" or "energy that moves the future," which is the lucky action of the Day Stem "Ren"—"if you are lost, act instead of maintaining the status quo"—resembled this color, which is full of the premonition of something starting in early spring.
Second, it was a color that links to my name. A bright yellow-green full of hope for early spring. The season when life buds, hope for the future, and the sight of shedding the past of winter and jumping into warm light come to mind. I was very surprised that such a youthful, life-filled "Mikoto-iro" with hope was similar to the origin of my name.
Third, it is about the cultural backing included in "Mikoto-iro". You explained how long "Mikoto-iro" has been familiar in Japan by citing literature such as haiku and essays, and explained that the color has been loved by Japanese people.
Also, you told me what color it corresponds to in traditional French colors, and I think this is a truly wonderful attempt. Even with the same color, the cultural background is different when the country changes, and the history of how that color has been passed down to the present day is also different, which was very interesting. Knowing the meaning of color from the perspective of a different culture changes the way you look at color. It's amazing that the color, which also has a history overseas, is inside me, a Japanese person. That's how it's connected, isn't it? The color name contains the kanji for "young," but I interpret it as the youthfulness of energy, not age. Not the glaring energy of midsummer, nor the quiet energy of winter, but the premonition that something wonderful is about to begin, the energy to start—I want to keep that always. How to apply "Mikoto-iro" to my life after knowing it. I wanted to turn the meaning of that color within me into energy to walk through life.

The task of confining the 'Destiny Chart Color,' chosen from what are said to be over 10 million colors, into just over 1,000 'Traditional Japanese Color Names' was extremely difficult. Since 'color names' (especially specific color names) have a 'color gamut,' converting a pinpoint 'Mikoto Color' into a 'traditional color' is actually a task with a very high degree of difficulty.
You will probably be curious about 'your color' and look it up on the internet or in books, but you might think, 'Oh, this is quite different.' Even if you look at books or the web, 'completely different' notations are made depending on the site or author. This is true not only for the 'visual color' but also for the 'numerical values.' There is no 'correct answer' or 'absolute' for color names.
In expressing the 'color name,' what I was most careful about was avoiding color names that, even if they looked 'perfect,' were not 'perfect' for the heart. (Some color names have origins such as 'the color of a sick person's skin.')
If there are multiple corresponding color names, I have chosen the one whose origin and meaning are beautiful and most appropriate. Also, I have chosen ones where the image might not immediately come to mind just by hearing the color name.
