I thought this person was a genius at interpreting the mundane things of daily life in a dramatic way.
And I think his true brilliance lies in his ability to express that within the 31 characters of a tanka poem.

Tanka is light and easy to read with its 31 syllables, and I think it's a very everyday thing that, if you try to make one, is incomparably easier to create than something like a novel.

That's why when I read Mr. Homura's tanka, I feel a sense of unease, as if a potent drug has been slipped into my daily life, exposing the romance found through his sensibilities within my own routine.

This is one of my favorite poems; it is very refreshing, yet it captures the unique, unpleasant atmosphere of summer.
Summer is indeed the season for adventure, but when you enter a soda factory, it suddenly starts to rain, and you are enveloped by a crackling sound from nowhere.
In a deserted factory I wandered into while chasing a cat, I find myself surrounded by the sound of applause despite having lost the kitten. Imagining such a situation is incredibly depressing.
I felt this was a truly amazing poem that perfectly captures a summer evening during that period after the rainy season, when the sunny days that should have been welcome suddenly start to feel oppressive.

This book contains many works selected by Mr. Homura himself.
I really want you to read it and find your favorite poem, and I think I will continue to reread it many times to find my next favorite.
