For those who cannot rest even on holidays | The choice to make time for a consultation

Tsumugi's Monologue

At school, I handled the reception for consultations from parents.

At this school, a school counselor visits twice a month on weekdays, and there is time available for not only students but also parents and faculty to seek advice.

I was only in charge of the reception, so I know nothing about the content of the consultations. I cannot speak about what was discussed either.

Even so, standing there, I felt something.

There was an atmosphere as if they had finally been able to have 'time for themselves'.

A place where it is okay to let out, just a little, the things that get pushed to the back of the line in daily life.

That is how that time seemed to flow.

Of course, that is all my imagination. I do not know the circumstances or the background.

However, it is certain that there are people whose hearts are constantly in motion amidst their daily roles, such as housework, childcare, work, and school.

Days spent putting oneself last, thinking, 'Once things settle down' or 'When I have some breathing room'.

Perhaps it is through the accumulation of those days that there are things they can finally bring out into the open.

Resting or stopping for a moment may not be a major decision, but in reality, something much smaller.

Just a little bit of time to think about oneself.

Perhaps that alone is enough for people to gradually find their way back.

I was just doing the reception, and I know nothing.

Even so, the atmosphere that existed in that short time still remains quietly with me.

The very choice to make time to come for a consultation may have been a great harvest for that person.

I hope that everyone can have at least a little time where they don't have to put themselves last too much.

Thinking that, I left the place.
