From now on, I will live by relying on others!
Over the past week and this week, I made a big decision.
That is, I asked an online assistant and an accounting agency for their help.
If you can rely on others, that means you must be earning that much, right?!
I want to tell those who thought that.
My sales are around 100,000 yen.
Third year as a freelancer
I have my children in daycare from 9:00 to 17:30
Even with such favorable conditions, I hadn't been able to produce results. However, lately, I've been receiving more requests from those around me, and I've been coming up with more and more ideas, like planning new events myself.
I've been making proposals to clients, and happily, they are being accepted. My track record is also gradually building up.
My activities bring joy to others.
Things develop and expand because I am involved.
I believe that.
I believe I can support those who want to take a step forward, both mentally and with know-how, and I am proud to be involved in the progress of my members.
However, I have a weakness.
I am not good at administration and accounting.
I find them troublesome and end up putting them off.
Because of that, for my last tax return, I spent an entire week on accounting. And without sleeping.
As my workload has increased, my tasks have been occupying my mind for a long time.
Consulting with people, supporting businesses, and moderating.
As that time increased, I couldn't dedicate time to my work and was feeling stressed.
In that case, I will leave the areas I'm not good at to people I can trust.
I will excel in what I am good at.
I was able to think that way.
The timing to ask for help depends on the person.
It's not about the amount of money. I gave myself permission to do that.
Online Assistant | Maaya-san
Online assistant Maaya-san and I met in a different course.
We hit it off from the first time we met in person, encouraged each other in many ways, and exchanged information.
When I launched my membership, they were the very first person to sign up for the coaching plan.
The way they passionately supported their favorite creator's activities was so similar to my own, which made me feel like I could rely on them.
As we met and talked more often, I felt a sense of sympathy. And then, I got caught up in being busy.
I've always been a habitual offender when it comes to typos and omissions, and I often get dates wrong too.
I was trained to do it during my time as a civil servant, so I could do it if I tried, but I knew well enough that administrative work wasn't my strong suit.
Even so, when I was struggling to keep up
Let's ask Maaya-san for help.
A sudden intuition struck me.
As luck would have it, Maaya-san, who usually lives in Okinawa and whom I can't normally meet, was back in the Kanto region, so I asked her. She accepted without a moment's hesitation.
And now, she is supporting the administrative side of the events I plan independently. For someone like me who feels uncomfortable with building systems or handling fine details, Maaya-san is a savior. I am truly grateful. Above all, she is fast and always offers suggestions.
That's great! Let's definitely make it happen!
That sounds great! Let's definitely make it happen!
When I share an idea I've come up with, she supports me with all her might.
I can't tell you how happy that makes me.
You never know until you try! Let's just do it for now!
She pushes me forward when I feel anxious.
As someone who has always been the one pushing others, I am moved by how powerful it is to be supported in return.
It's so happy to be able to share worries, hesitations, and joys all together. Thank you always!
Accounting Agency | Yomogi-san
And then, the person I asked to handle my accounting is Yomogi-san.
She is someone who came to my coaching plan when I first opened the membership.
A veteran with a long history in accounting! Someone who transitioned from being a corporate employee to a freelancer.
Even though we had no prior acquaintance or connection, she found my Note, felt a spark, and jumped right in. I feel a mysterious connection.
When I share or explain mental habits or assumptions, she is incredibly fast at internalizing them. Plus, she always compliments me.
Otsu-san, you are cute!
Because you show us your failures, Otsu-san, I feel like it's okay for me to be forgiven too!
I am so grateful to have such wonderful members!
And Yomogi-san's own attitude of facing reality properly and internalizing things for herself is wonderful.
Seeing how you face both work and people with honesty, I felt that 'if I'm going to ask anyone, it has to be Yomogi-san.'
I was nervous when I made the request, but I was impressed by how happy you were about it.
I've worked with corporations before, but I didn't realize individuals needed help too.
You shared that discovery with me.
Furthermore,
Otsu-san, leave the accounting to me and please focus on your own activities! Let's share all your worries and cut them in half.
If someone says that to me, I'll cry.
The people around me are truly wonderful.
I am truly grateful.
Looking back, when I was a local government employee, there was no such option as saying 'No'.Everything was 'Yes.' That was because I had biased thinking.
I don't want to be thought of as incompetent.
If I refuse, my relationships will suffer.
What my seniors say is absolute.
For someone like me who is super athletic and muscle-brained, 'relying on others' or 'being dependent' was out of the question!
I had no choice but to grit my teeth and keep moving forward.
That was because I was forcing myself to be a strong, capable person.
Even though I was screaming 'Help me' and 'I want to escape' in my heart, I swallowed it all and got through it with a fake smile.
But now, I have companions.
I realized that using the money I received to have someone who is good at it help me, in order to further my own development, is incredibly constructive.
Being able to make the most of each other's strengths is a win-win. It's nothing but happiness.
What I can do is believe in my own path.
Not stop my progress.
Move in directions that seem interesting.
I will take pride in my activities so that I can continue to rely on you two for work!
Thinking that I have two reliable people by my side gives me power.
The coming 'Age of Wind' is likely an era where we break down premises and move forward lightly. It's an image of people who like each other connecting and expanding those connections.
A world line where people I've met through me go on to join hands with others.
I want to start a world where everyone can smile and strive for what they are good at and love, starting from within a 3-meter radius of myself.
The thing that made me happiest this year.
That is, having met reliable companions.
I look forward to working with you all from here on out.
I wrote this for the December column project of the Web Writer Lab.
