Edogawa Ward Tomo-no-yu
November 2, 2022.
Perhaps because I spent lunch talking to a colleague about being questioned by the police and going to court for a traffic violation, I am more sensitive to the movements of the police authorities than usual.
It has been a while since I was in Koiwa, but I am not such a naive person that I think, 'There is a police box in front of the station, so I feel safe☆'.

With only 10 days left until the Matsumoto Marathon, I am trying to be careful about my diet. Since I have been eating much less, I decided to treat today as a cheat day during my break and go for tsukemen after my bath.

I also attended the same cram school in Honancho when I was in junior high school!
I think I came here on January 3, 2021.
It seems they renovated around December, and they said they barely touched anything except for the floor in the changing room.

I will follow everyone else and cross.
Record of my first visit:

Previously, the area around the front desk was cluttered not only with a model train diorama but also with cats lounging around. I heard those cats have gone to their home now.
I will enjoy the cats through photos only. The fact that the cats let them take such cute photos must be because they are the owners.

Entering the changing room, I am reminded of my previous visit.
The position of the TV, at an angle where you have to look up while standing akimbo after a bath, is the absolute best, isn't it?
Oops... setting aside my critique of the TV position, I head to the bathing area.
The layout is almost the same as last time, but the waterfall bath is gone and has been replaced by a plain hot water bath.
I wash up quickly, and compare the soft water here with the soft water I have been having for days.
It is creamier than yesterday. I love it.
And then, to the jet bath.
During my first visit, I barely understood 'what a jet bath was' and was a broken record saying 'this is my first time♡' wherever I went, but there is no denying that I am even more of a fool now.
In short, it is not the top-tier, but it is a reasonably strong jet, and I think it is quite wide as well.
By the way, I think the jet at 'Matsunoyu' in Hachioji is the narrowest in Tokyo, which made me conscious of my diet, but after the bath, I ended up heading to a ramen shop.
So, to the steam sauna.
The settings might not have changed much from last time, but I gave up after about 5 minutes. When I left, I almost said 'you idiot' naturally, and I think I probably muttered it.
The steam is fine, but the hot, dripping water from the ceiling is scary because it doesn't choose where it hits. The interval is about the same as an IV drip, but if those drops fell on me while I was on the verge of death from some illness, I would probably come back to life and kill whoever did the IV drip. That is how hot it is.
It is easier to sit in the back, but leaving the sauna room is even more hellish. Both times I had it to myself and could sit in my favorite seat, but what would I do if it were crowded and I could only sit by the entrance?
By the way, since I had it to myself today, I tried wedging the handle of a mop I found nearby into the door. It was much easier.
To the cold bath. It is soft water and cold, which is great. I zone out.
And when I watch TV standing akimbo in the changing room, I cool down quickly, and I do this for 4 rounds. Even though there is no TV in the sauna room, it is a strangely addictive steam.

That sauna from the morning...

if you don't believe it, I want you to experience it with your own body.

I felt energized after stopping by the tsukemen shop "Suppon" on my way back.
Rather than having my energy drained, I felt so refreshed that I was starving. I wouldn't want to do that every day, but it's addictive.

I thought it had been a while since I'd had noodles, but I actually had somen last night too.
Tsukemen is generally delicious after all. I should have added extra onions too.
Right, tomorrow is my first run to multiple bathhouses in a while!
