[Radio Repair] Matsushita R-127 Transistor Radio
I repaired a Matsushita Electric transistor radio, the R-127, which I purchased as junk. It is an orthodox 6-transistor superheterodyne model, likely from the early 1970s.

The symptoms were that sound could be heard through earphones, but it was either very quiet or barely audible through the speaker, so I suspected poor contact due to oxidation of the earphone jack.

When I opened the terminal section, I did indeed see oxidation, so I inserted a thin strip of sandpaper to polish it. After reassembling it, it seems to work normally. Since I believe it is over half a century old, I decided to replace the capacitors as much as possible.

It can now be heard clearly through both the speaker and earphones. I have listed the transistors used below.
2SA102 (OSC)
2SA101 (IF) x2
2SB175 (AF)
2SB176 (AF PA) x2
Thank you for reading. Please let me know if there are any errors. If you are repairing the same model and have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment. I will answer to the best of my ability.
