Intestinal Malrotation Diary 2025: 'Day 11 of Fasting'
Tuesday the 28th, Day 11 of hospitalization
Perhaps due to the sense of liberation from the tube, I managed to sleep for six and a half hours—or rather, I passed out (the only time I woke up was when the nurse's flashlight hit my face).
Starting today, I will begin eating to observe whether I can pass stool or gas. It feels like an experiment, but I hope for a successful outcome.
I am very anxious about whether there is a stricture in the duodenum and whether things will pass all the way from my mouth to my anus.
[Breakfast] Thin rice porridge, juice, jelly
[Lunch] Thin rice porridge, two juices
[Dinner] Thin rice porridge, juice, jelly
After breakfast, my stomach felt a bit bloated. I was anxious and worried that it had returned, so I walked around. Walking makes it feel better, so I paced around the hospital.
Even minor pain or bloating makes me nervous. Deep down, I have a very strong sense of anticipatory anxiety, wondering, 'What if it goes back to how it was?'

I'm panicking because it's mostly gas and almost no stool. When I asked the doctor, he said it's fine because everything was cleared out by the laxatives.
[Today's Schedule]
9:00: 6 laps around the hospital, stretching, muscle training
9:40: 25 minutes on the rehab bike
14:00: 6 laps around the hospital, stretching, muscle training
18:30: 8 laps around the hospital, stretching, muscle training
After morning rehab, I was exhausted and couldn't move, so I dozed off a bit during the day.
Finally, I will try solid food to see if it digests and turns into stool. If things go well, the diagnosis is that I will be discharged on Friday the 31st.
At night, there was a time when I lay on my back and the prickling pain in my stomach disappeared. I felt happy.
Since I started eating, my IV drip has become incredibly small. It's amazing, considering I'm only having thin rice porridge and jelly!
I realized that eating is so powerful and provides such effective hydration!
Also, even though I fasted for 11 days, I only lost 3 kilograms; I experienced firsthand that humans are truly built not to lose weight easily.
And muscle is what goes first. I feel a significant loss of muscle strength, especially in my thighs and buttocks.
I realize that muscle gain is meaningless while restricting food, because you can't build muscle without a calorie surplus.
You really shouldn't do ridiculous things like dieting. I absolutely do not recommend it.
Since you are healthy and your intestines are in the right place, that alone is a blessing, so isn't that enough?
If you eat a proper amount, go for walks, do minimal housework, stay clean, and sleep peacefully, you will naturally maintain a decent body.
All the diet methods in the world are just business and nonsense. You shouldn't spend money on them. It's a waste of time, too.
I've gained enough composure to worry about others now (lol).
