An ancient band that appeared in the Reiwa era..

I've known about them for a while, but they've completely turned into MALICE MIZER (the band Gackt was in during his bandman days), so I'm introducing them (lol).

They are NETH PRIERE CAIN, a band that appeared in the Reiwa era and carries on the good old traditions (´･ω･`).

They've always been a band with a heavy, classic Visual Kei sound that incorporates synths and features dark, fast-paced arrangements, but this time they've gone for an aesthetic vibe based on the Maid of Orleans... Joan of Arc (not the former band of the person who recently went missing from streaming services for a while) (lol) (´･ω･`).

It's very aesthetic, just like MALICE MIZER or LAREINE, the band Kamijo-san from Versailles was in before.

Well, that's to be expected, as Kamijo-san was a roadie for MALICE MIZER before forming LAREINE, and while Mana-sama is famous as a metalhead, LAREINE's guitarist MAYU-san was also a metalhead; surprisingly, many guitarists in the Visual Kei scene are metalheads (＾ω＾).

As an aside, here's another band with a metalhead guitarist...

The intro just gets you, doesn't it... (´･ω･`) This is their debut release, you know (´･ω･`)?

I still regret the early passing of guitarist Kazurin, a.k.a. Kagetsu (I'm pretty sure we were only a year apart in age).

But I digress!

Returning to NETH PRIERE CAIN, the PV really feels like it's channeling MALICE MIZER, doesn't it... Vocalist Itsuki-san looks just like Gackt during the 'au revoir' era, and guitarist Shuri-san is exactly like Mana-sama. It's strange how that makes drummer Kenji-san look like Kami-san too (´･ω･`) (lol).

Setting that aside, the song features guitar strumming from the intro, drums keeping a sharp rhythm, and synths woven in perfectly, making you feel that 'the good old classic Visual Kei is right here!' (´･ω･`).

And the highlight of the PV is the guitar spin at the end of the guitar solo!! It's been a while since I've seen that (＾ω＾) (lol).

Well, as I've written before, there are many people in the recent Visual Kei scene who misunderstand it as just 'if you wear makeup, it's Visual Kei,' but Visual Kei is a legitimate music genre with roots in rock and metal!! I'm very satisfied that there are still bands like this keeping to the classic path, and I'm sure other old-school fans are too (＾ω＾) (lol).
