Day 470 (Announcement of an announcement)

Today marks 470 days since I started writing on note every day. Usually, people reflect on things like this at the one-year mark or on the 500th day, and as for it being a joke about 'why now?!', it's a number that's too round to be funny. A half-baked timing in every sense—that is day 470. I tried searching for '470' and found a yacht racing category called the '470 (Yon-Nana-Maru) Class,' but that doesn't really mean anything.

The quality of my writing varies quite a bit from day to day, but regardless, I've managed to keep posting something every single day. If this were ramen, I'd be putting out stuff that's on the level of 'there's no noodles,' 'the soup is just hot water,' or 'wait, this is actually yakisoba,' so if I were a franchise owner, it would be a huge problem. But since it's a personal hobby, it's fine. I'll even put out a pack of instant noodles and say, 'You'll have to make it yourself!' so please boil your own water and read along.

What I've learned after 470 days is that even when I have nothing to write about, there are times when I think, 'I really have nothing to write about...' and times when I can think, 'Hahahaha! Just write anything! Hahahaha!' I can tell my current mental state based on that. It seems I'm the type who 'gets motivated as if remembering to do so once in a while,' though I suppose most people are like that.

I originally started note with the blatant ulterior motive of 'I hope this leads to some work!', but as it became a daily habit, that awareness gradually faded, and it's become more of a 'Well, if you'd like to offer me work, I'd appreciate it... hehehehehe...' kind of feeling. And the other day, thankfully, I was able to get some work through note. It was a job writing and illustrating a segment for a TV show. I was happy because it was an unexpected type of work, and the process was a lot of fun.

The broadcast seems to be on September 24th. I'll announce it on Twitter and such tomorrow, so I want everyone to watch it, and those who have watched it should spread the word to four people who haven't yet. And those four people to another four... and then again...
