29. [My Life as an Only Child and My Parents' End-of-Life Planning] Mom's surgery is the day after tomorrow. I want her to say, 'I never fail.'
A story about end-of-life planning for my 87-year-old mother hospitalized with cancer, my 86-year-old father with dementia, and me, an only child. Here is the note where I wondered if I might be committing death harassment against my mother↓↓
On the article above, I received a very kind and accurate comment from 'Teinen no Otchan-neru' (I call him Geegee-san), who always posts very serious, socially conscious, and easy-to-understand notes.
Geegee-san's notes are always truly educational. They are very helpful, so please read them↓↓
The comment I received from Geegee-san is here↓↓ Even though I didn't write the detailed medical condition, he understood it perfectly. Geegee-san, who are you?! It's amazing!

Since feeling uneasy doesn't solve anything, I went to visit her yesterday for the last time before the surgery and asked my mother again if she really wanted to undergo the operation, to hear her feelings once more.
My mother said, 'Well, at this point, I have no choice but to have it cut. I want to get it cut soon, get better soon, and go home.'
Although her fear hasn't completely disappeared, some time has passed since the explanation, so she seemed to have calmed down a bit and was accepting the situation calmly. Considering her age and physical strength, she probably won't be discharged in three weeks like Geegee-san, but I want to watch over her while praying for her slow recovery.
A major surgery that will take 12 hours.
'I never fail.'
I wish the doctor would say that definitively, like Michiko Daimon from Doctor-X.
