【Doubling Sales in 3 Years of Independence】Behind the Scenes of a Labor and Social Security Attorney Office That Achieved Rapid Growth from Scratch
---What is the "secret to achieving double the sales of your banking days within 3 years of opening" that a former banker talks about?
Since opening in 2022, "Felix Labor and Social Security Attorney Office," based in Ibaraki Prefecture, has rapidly increased its number of advisory clients, and sales have grown to more than double what they were during his previous career as a banker. Behind this lies Representative Hirotoshi Sakamoto's meticulous marketing strategy and the accumulation of sincere trust-building.

◆ Independence from scratch. What are the factors that allowed for growth despite this?
After graduating from university, Mr. Sakamoto worked at a local bank for 23 years. He passed the labor and social security attorney exam while employed and opened his own practice in 2022. Although he started with zero practical experience and few connections, the number of advisory clients is now eight times what it was when he opened.
The reason for this lies in "building a multi-layered network that does not rely on a single route."
◆ Designing "trust" from a marketing perspective
One of the reasons he never runs out of referrals is the marketing mindset he cultivated during his time at the bank. "First awareness, then gaining trust" says Mr. Sakamoto, who thoroughly implements attentive responses, such as providing frequent feedback to those who refer clients. This kind of careful accumulation naturally leads to the next referral.
Also, the "Office Newsletter" issued every month without fail has become an important tool for maintaining connections with people he cannot meet in person.
◆ DX promotion as an office weapon
Another of Mr. Sakamoto's strengths is DX support. Feeling that "back-office organization" is a common trait among high-performing companies, he proposes the introduction of the electronic application system "Office Station Pro" to companies that still have analog operations. He has utilized this tool since the beginning of his business and has achieved a completely paperless system in his own office as well.
"Honestly, without this tool, there would be no growth today" he says, adding that it contributes significantly to both improving the office's administrative quality and customer satisfaction.
◆ Never turning down work, even with zero practical experience
At the beginning of his independence, he spent his days feeling his way through, with a single procedure taking half a day. Even so, with the motto "don't turn it down because you can't do it, but accept everything with a 'yes'," he thoroughly researched, learned, and completed everything he didn't know.
◆ Facing his own life rather than sales targets
Mr. Sakamoto's office has no numerical targets such as sales or number of advisory clients. As a result of sticking to the stance of "providing what I can as long as it is needed," the business has expanded naturally.
"The most important thing is to enrich your own life," says Mr. Sakamoto. He says that behind this philosophy is his empathy for Kazuo Inamori's words, "to die with a more beautiful soul than when you were born."
His goal for the future is to balance work and private life with an eye toward further efficiency and personnel reinforcement.
