Longing to Meet My "Ghost Husband" ~Gratitude for Old Age!~ Episode 25
Just recently, I watched a PIVOT interview with biologist Dr. Takehiko Kobayashi and learned for the first time that "organisms other than humans die without experiencing old age. Most living things finish their biological role the moment their reproductive activities to leave offspring are over, and they quietly depart from this world."
This time, I've turned the shock I felt when I learned that into a manga.

Most people don't realize the blessing of "old age," which is the only thing granted to land animals. Because people think of "old age" as the "fear of aging," society is filled with nothing but noise about know-how for staying healthy and living long.
Instead of worrying about how many steps to walk every day for your health, isn't it fine to just walk? Since you drink to enjoy yourself, who cares about how many glasses you have? It's okay not to do things with a specific purpose; it's fine to just do them because you want to.
It's easy to get swayed by all the information circulating about old age, but I think if we are grateful for the time of "old age" itself that has been granted to humans, there is no right or wrong way to spend it.
I used to think of old age as starting around 65, so since my husband passed away at 72, I thought he left us with almost no old age. But if he was already in his biological old age when we met, then I feel like there's no need to feel sorry for him, thinking he should have had a fun time after retiring.
Because my husband had 20 years of time to enjoy with me during his old age.
