Come on, let's all think about it!
I have my smartphone wallpaper set to display past photos.
And in black and white, at that.
Photos from the last ten years or so appear randomly,
and interestingly, I can tell they are my own photos.
Well, since they are coming from my photo folder,
they are all my photos, of course.
With so many photos,
you would think there might be some I don't remember taking,
and while some occasionally appear that I can't recall when I took,
I still know they are all my photos.
How should I put it?
The way I take photos is a habit of mine.
Finding the 'anomaly' I want to conveyand turning it into a photo as if telling a story,
I can relive those experiences.
Even with similar photos,
it's not the same if they aren't taken by my own hand.
Anomalies don't look like anomalies,
or their composition subtly rubs me the wrong way.
Some, or perhaps most, of the things captured
prickle and irritate me.
Sadly,
for the reasons above,
I cannot enjoy other people's photos.
Every photo is just reference material,
to make my own photos better.
Well then, tonight too,
I shall admire my own work.
