Wonder Woman Review | A Story of a Strong and Upright 'Fighting Woman'
A peaceful island inhabited only by women, free from war and discrimination.
Raised in such a world, she suddenly steps into the 'world of men' one day.
What awaited her there was—
The discomfort of clothing, the status of women, and the absurdity of war.
And, the difficulty of loving.
The coming-of-age story of a woman who knew nothing of the world,
had a solid theme beneath its flashy action.
■ Synopsis | Until the 'Warrior Who Knows No War' Saves the World
Diana, princess of the Amazons, grew up on Themyscira, an island where only women live.
Though she is a warrior trained to wield a sword and shield, she truly believed that 'there is no war in the world'.
One day, a man crashes from the sky. His name is Steve.
And the fact he revealed was, 'The outside world is currently in the midst of World War I.'
Believing in the existence of Ares, the god of war,
Diana sets out on a journey to the outside world to save humanity—sword in hand.
■ So ignorant of the world that she is actually strong
Diana's reactions upon first arriving in London are interesting at every turn.
Carrying weapons and getting them 'confiscated'
Asking with a straight face about women's dresses, 'How are you supposed to fight in these?'
Walking into parliament and leaving everyone stunned (she doesn't read the room)
Because she is too sheltered,all 'common sense' is lost on her.
But that ignorance actually becomes her strength,
and she fully embodies the idea that 'a person's value is not determined by whether they can fight'.
■ A frontal assault is so cool! Wonder Woman!!
As expected, the action scenes in this movie are the best.
Among them, the 'No Man's Land' scene is a masterpiece.
The sight of her holding up her shield to take the barrage of gunfire head-on and breaking through enemy lines all by herself gives me goosebumps.
The way she fights so straightforwardly—to the point of being a total frontal assault—is irresistible.
The slow-motion direction is also perfectly executed,
making me genuinely think, 'Strong women are this cool.'
■ 'That one photo' that connects to 'Batman v Superman'
A single photo that appears in 'Batman v Superman'.
It is actually a group photo of Diana and her companions taken during the war in this film.
Companions who fought together in the war. Lives lost.
This photo, which represents those memories in just one shot,
felt like the origin of her 'trust in humanity.'
■ War is so unreasonable, isn't it?
Diana believed that "if Ares is defeated, the war will end."
But in reality, whether Ares is there or not, humans are fighting.
"People kill people without even knowing why"
"Why can't you stop it?"
That question was conveyed through her expression the whole time.
Because she doesn't know the structure of war or political maneuvering,
her pure question of "Why are you doing this?" really hits home.
■ What she chose in the end was "love"
The answer Diana reaches in the final battle was unexpectedly simple.
"Humans have ugly parts. But even so, I want to believe in them."
It's not power, butlove that saves the world"
It's not about justice or logic,
but the fact that "caring for someone" is the driving force behind her actions was really great.

Summary | Beautiful, strong, upright, and a little clumsy
"Wonder Woman" was
not just a movie about the "strongest female hero."
Jumping into the world without knowing it,
clashing,
getting hurt,
and still trying to believe.
There was real humanity in that figure.
A movie where a protagonist with both strength and kindness
is properly established as a hero.
It makes you laugh a little, cry a little, and it's genuinely passionate.
I was captivated by her charm, which is "out of sync" in a good way.
