Dialect Yokai Part 1: The Pushy Type
The rainy season started in Tohoku a little while ago, and it had been raining continuously, but today, for the first time in a while, it was sunny from the morning.
This was the perfect chance. I called out to my son as he was about to head to school, "Take your pool bag with you." There probably wouldn't be a swimming lesson today, but if he didn't take it when he could, there was a risk that he'd have to add the pool bag to his already heavy load on Monday. Also, his belongings tend to get wet on rainy days, so I wanted to avoid that if possible. It had to be today. It had to be.
However, my son completely ignored these thoughts of mine.
"It doesn't have to be today."
But it has to be today...!
After that, the back-and-forth continued for a while, and although I had started out gently saying "Just take it," I gradually began to get agitated. Finally, my son said,
"I'm in a bit of a hurry."
And since he started saying things like someone brushing off a street solicitor,
"Just take it."
"I said just take it...!"
I turned into a person who wouldn't let them escape until they took the pool bag, and forced them to carry it.
As I watched the back of my son, who had been reluctantly made to carry the pool bag, I thought that a yokai like this might actually exist, so I had ChatGPT create one. Its name is the Dialect Yokai Mottekede. It is a sad yokai that is disliked by children even though it acts out of good intentions. It's me...!
